ME!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Ok... so we had a band of Lake Effect snow go through... ohh well...

So... Marilyn... everyone should be back tonight or so from Chicago... they will be on soon... :rotfl:

Hey Bubba... you out there???

We're Back......

Got home a bit early.....John had enough of the crowds and started feeling ill. He's got a tummy bug. So he needed to be home. We left 9:00pm Friday night instead of Saturday at 11:00am. We missed spending time with the friends doing Harry Potter and out to dinner for good burgers. But we had a blast for the time that we did spend with them.

We got to Chicago Wednesday around noon and met up with Cheri, Monica and Jackie to go see Tangled. John slept after doing the twelve hour drive. After the movie, John, Holly and Sue (Holly's mom) met us for dinner and drinks at Pizzaria Due for some official Chicago deep dish pizza. It was different, but it was good.

Thursday was Turkey day and we had the best time ever with the bestest of friends, food, wine, champage.....just awesome. Ian really worked hard and presented a fine gourmet traditional turkey dinner.....i.e., my mom's menu on steroids. We loved everything about the dinner and the day and especially the people.

Friday we shopped a little on the Miracle Mile.....the infamous Michigan Avenue on Black Friday. EEK!!!!! We went to the Disney store and I bought a box of all the Princesses in the order of their movie....complete to Rapunzel. It's awesome. Then we did lunch with Jackie and Ian and Cheri and Monica and Holly and me and John at the Grand Cafe that was beautiful with a huge menu of specialty foods. Lots of fun and great food.

Then the group went to see Harry Potter and me and John begged off. I shopped in Coach and got a pink wristlet bag for Brittany for Christmas....Casey's girlfriend (she loves Coach) and then I shopped at Sworfskey's crystal store and bought a pink rope bracelet with a pink crystal on it for me. Then me and John got into the car and went to see the lighted Christmas tree. The traffic was horrible....bad idea. To make matters worse, they had a shooting where a police officer died in South Chicago. It was the second police officer shot in a week. So all the police officers got into their cars and in solidarity for their fallen brothers, they lined up and drove through the city in a funeral procession format with their lights on. Nice. But, naturally, some city streets were closed and the traffic on Black Friday has now increased. It took John two hours to go a few blocks.

After getting back to the hotel, John's tummy bug started kicking in and we decided to head for home that night instead of the following morning. We never got to say goodbye with good hugs to everyone. So I'm sending them now to all of you!!!!!!:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

I just found this posted on the cabana thread.....very good to know!!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you know I just returned from a wonderful trip on the Wonder and we got a Cabana on Serenity Bay... and can I just say... WELL WORTH IT! However, for those of you that don't know.... it is only $390 for a Cabana on the adult beach! So if you don't have kids I would highly suggest it!

Glad you had such a good time Deb, but sorry John wasn't well at the end. 2 hours in traffic for a few blocks though!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1: The police sure pick their day don't they?:confused3

Deb, sounds like everyone had a great Turkey Day :thumbsup2 Hope John is feeling better now.

Do you have pics...please :flower3::flower3::flower3:

I got my tree up yesterday and the lights strung up. Today everyone came over for the tree decorating party. It has been a fun day but I'm ready for bed already!

Hi Marilyn! How have you been feeling lately? Better? Are you almost ready for Christmas?

These are Turkey Day pictures for Kathe.....(Bubba already saw them on FB).

Hi Marilyn! How have you been feeling lately? Better? Are you almost ready for Christmas?

I love this time of year when you begin to see people's Christmas trees going up in their windows. We have a bookcase where our tree used to go so not sure what we are going to do this year. Might have to go out in the conservatory, but it is far too cold to actually put it up out there right now!!!

We have a white out with the snow. Though we had a covering Friday morning and snow was to the east of us, it wasn't forecast yesterday, but it started at 3pm and snowed heavily for about 4 hours or so. Folk were out and about doing Sunday things and Christmas shopping, so many had to abandon cars or were stuck for hours and hours trying to get home. Really nasty. Big school and work snow day today!!! Looks like it will be repeated tonight, but at least it has been forecast this time.

Funny, hardly any snow for 20 years and now 2 consecutive bad winters.:confused3

I'm doing ok thanks Kathe. Much the same really. Looking forward to Christmas and then our vacation and cruise. How strange it is going to be with only Cheri of the thieves onboard!! Well of those I know and remember that is.

There are still a few cabins available if anyone has had second thoughts!!

Yikes, I didn't realize you had snow flying already :cold: I've been scraping ice off my windshield, but that's about all here...so far! I've been getting quotes on prices for snow tires though, I know the snow will be coming soon. Unfortunately the snow tires I had on my last car won't fit my new one :headache:

I sure do wish I could claim one of those empty cabins and come along on your cruise!

We senior citizens like them!!!;)
