Is everyone managing to keep warm :cold: I didn't send our cold weather to you Michelle, it must have been Ken and Shannon ;) It's -11C right now (-20C with the wind chill) and going down to about -18C tonight. It was lovely and sunny all day, and we're not getting snow at the moment, but I think more is called for tomorrow.Deborah, how cold is it in Scotland?

Haven't been onto Disboards for a few days. Had to spend time doing school work. The nice thing is that taking the accounting courses is more meaningful now that I'm doing an accounting job:cool1:

Hope everybody is doing well. We've been getting ridiculous amounts of snow and there's more coming tonight. The Christmas decorations outside are buried. Ken plugged them in tonight while he was taking some snow off the carport roof. They created a lovely glow from under the snow.:goodvibes

Shannon, I'm glad work and school are going well:thumbsup2 Do you get every weekend off? Guess you'll have a snow day in any case! Does your family ski at all? My nephews have been having a great time skiing this season. Snow came early and stayed.

Hi Kathe!!! :yay:

They say we MIGHT get down to about -15 on Sunday... they won't tell us about Monday... they've warned everyone to bring their pets inside... Planky is hibernating until spring.. or the next pizza delivery (whichever comes first...)

But it's football this weekend and I have a whole list of things I want to do around the house and if I do 2 of them a day then I will be in good shape...

Hi Michelle :yay:

Don't get too mad at Maysie, she's young, she'll learn! There are lots and lots of less healthy choices she could have wasted money on.

I'm tryinging... if the family weren't struggling so much this winter... she seems also to go from one thing to another... first it was irish dancing, then horses, then living at the beach and then surfing and now this... my mother would have cut her off long ago and told her to get a job... just like she did me...

I think I'm also going through some separation anxiety. 4 out of 5 are in college... Mark is getting married... They're moving on and don't need me anymore... :sad2:

They may be moving on, but of course they still need you :grouphug:

Kathe,

Hush up and stop complaining. I'm surprised you didn't go out and try to get a tan today considering how balmy it was where you are. It was -28C in Chicago with the wind chill.

The thing that sort of freaked me out was on my walk to work, crossing the Chicago river (the river is about 3 blocks wide), there was vapor coming off the river. That means the river was warmer than the air temperature. That sort of drove home just how cold it was.

that's what Brian tells me... he says they may not need me anymore, but they will always want me... :goodvibes

Do they skate on th river at all? The Mohawk is almost frozen (the Erie Canal) which has made it almost impossible for the draft horses to pull the barges from Albany to Buffalo... We fear that the pioneers who took off late may not get their provisions in time...

No, it would be way too dangerous to skate on the river. It does freeze, but typically not all the way over and it doesn't stay frozen for long. Still, it early in the winter, we still have February to come.

And the annual ice break and the flooding of Jacks... :thumbsup2 (on opening weekend...) It's almost as predictable as the crocus' comming up...

Hi all. Back from our fabulous cruise. Of course it wasn't the same without you all, but we did have an amazing time. I could do it all again!!!!!! Weather was fantastic apart from the wind at Castaway Cay and our final sea day being cool. Just wonderful. Panama Canal day was not quite as hot as our cruise but was still a scorcher. We felt so blessed again with the weather. Even today in LA has been hot and sunny!!

At the VGC now relaxing for a change. Feel soooooooo tired, but will pop out to catch the fireworks later. Room overlooks DCA with the wheel and Screamer right there. Pretty good apart from construction work going on just below. Ah well we can look above that and there should be no work tomorrow and Sunday. Park noise drowns it out anyway. Looks great right now in the dark.

Hopefully we will be trying to get to meet up with Nan and family and Bubba and Venetia if it can be arranged. We aren't getting park tickets for Sunday which is a bit of a problem.

Hope you are all doing well. Everyone's cruises are getting much closer now.:yay:

Just taking a break from the stress of packing, we leave on Tuesday, tomorrow will be busy, I am working and Albert will be taking the dogs to their sitter.

Looking forward to seeing old friends Tuesday evening or at the terminal on Wednesday, also hoping to see Marilyn and John after the cruise.

Thanks Michelle, really looking forward to exploring the new ship, wish you were with us.

We have been watching the temperatures, it was warmer here last night than in Orlando!

Ann

thanks anne!!!

You'll have lots of thieves on board with you...

Will you be booking any other cruises for this year?

No more DCL cruises this year although we do have a dummy booking for the end of this year just waiting for the announcement for the later part of next year. We are on a HAL cruise to Norway in August with no flying involved, just a drive down to Dover.
Our next visit to WDW will be at the end of September for 2 weeks for the Food & Wine festival.

Do you have any cruises planned?

Ann

I have lots of "plans..."... but nothing booked... it will be a miracle when it happens...
