Greetings from the observation deck of the S.S. Northwestern Hospital.

This afternoon at work, around 3:15 pm I started having chest pains that eventually went my left arm and my hand was tingling.

I got carted off in an ambulance, was in ER and am now in overnight for observation. They are doubtful it was a heart attack. I go for a stress test tomorrow.

It was very embarrassing at work getting wheeled out of the office and then through the building lobby.

I debated whether to tell anyone about the chest pains, and waiting to see if it would just go away. But it was serious enough for me to do something.

So it looks like I'm ok.

On the bright side with what this is going to cost I've probably hit our deductible and maximum out of pocket expense for 2010!

Good morning all! Still in the hospital. I don't know what time the stress test is scheduled for.

Thank you for all of the kind thoughts and wishes. Yes, the job needs to change ... dramatically. I don't think the current one under the new regime will change. As my mother always said, "A leopard never changes it's spots. "

I have been taking all of the necessary steps to bring about change on my own.

Well hopefully you will soon be home where you belong. I hope they give you a good amount of time off work too.

I do remember you saying you were looking at ways to cut down on the stress etc, so hopefully you are on your way!

Take care and do what the doctor orders.

I had the stress test this morning and there was an anomaly They still do not believe I had a heart attack, but I am being transferred to the cardiology unit because they want to do an angiagram.

Worst part if this us burning up PTO time and that I'm on no food or water, which also means no coffee!

This is a good thing. Better that they find something wrong and fix it. John went thru the exact same thing that you are going thru ten years ago. He didn't know it but the EKG said that he technically did have a heart attack. He ended up getting a couple of stints put in. He was SO MAD that he couldn't have coffee or a cigarette and that they wanted to keep him overnight....he was so angry that he threw Webster at me. EEK!

I better take a nap this afternoon. I have to be awake at midnight to book DCL again. I got everything I wanted for the 4 night. Tonight I'm booking for the 3 night.

I get to book for the Dream inaugural cruise on the 3rd night of my October cruise. The only thing I'm booking is a Palo brunch. I wonder if Palo on the Wonder can book me for Palo on the Dream? Probably not. I'll be up at Cove Cafe at midnight on my laptop.

did you get Palo brunch for me???

I just called my brother. No answer. I left a message. If he doesn't call me back, then I'll know that he's already out to sea. I told him to call me when he gets back in port afterwards.

I'm sure he's ok... they know what to do in a storm like this. At least it's not a stronger one...

Lets hope so. I'm so hoping we don't get a hurricane in September - they say it is going to be a bad year.

Well... that's a nice way of putting it... I always thought of my post op experiences as nice ones (granted I was swacked out on morphine...) except when they woke up up to take your blood pressure.

Consider it done. It's not a problem at all. You can FB or email or PM me your info when you know what you want to book. Give me dates and times that you prefer. I'll get as close to it as possible, if not exact. Consider Palo, Spas and Excursions. I'm a pro at it by now....hahaha.

Not to worry about hurricanes. DCL will not put you in danger. They will reroute. One time they put us off the ship early and then gave us a 50% discount if we booked our next cruise within one year. DCL will take care of you no matter what the weather. I have cruised many times in hurricane season. Actually I prefer that time of year to cruise. You'll be fine and you'll have a great time.

Maybe they will send us north... I'd like to see the Magic go past the Statue of Liberty as a stop off...

They did that to mom... no food.. but she got to have jello after a while. I ate her italian ices...

I've discovered that they discontinued my favorite bra...

in better news... mom and I went shopping for a trip we haven't booked yet...

Boscovs had a really good sale on summer dresses... we each got one and then we went to Kohls and got a few tops... It's funny though... our dresses look similar but they aren't... We just have to wear them on different nights...

And if I don't go... I'll just be really overdressed for Jacks...

They moved me to a nice room. I have a lakeview.

Wow, when you put it in that perspective....that was a while ago. I've done 2 since then....and have 6 more in the works. I feel very fortunate.

Yes, I think just about everybody has cruised since then, at least once, and being able to share in yours and everybody else's pictures and stories from more cruises makes it not seem so long since the rest of us went. You know, what we always say on here, living "vivaciously" through everybody else! It's nice!

I couldn't agree more!! It's just that since the surgery at the end of March, it hurts more than it ever did before. I would rather the progress without so much pain.

.....ahh hahahaha.....Holly you have been on a roll here lately. Purging agrees with you.

AND I've gotten rid of one of my meds, so that agrees with me too. I've not been sleeping all the time and have been feeling things I didn't even realize I WASN'T while on Paxil. I got teary over something on TV a couple days ago and it wasn't until then that I realized I didn't cry once over the past couple years while taking it. Sure, I needed it for anxiety attacks over all the phone calls I was receiving from school almost daily and all the other crap we were dealing with, and it really made me NOT feel all that stress and anxiety, etc.....BUT....it also made me not feel much of anything at all, which I didn't realize until going off it. There was a funny thing at work today that made me laugh so hard for so long, I couldn't catch my breath and was almost in tears from laughing so hard! It was awesome to be able to laugh like that! Yet another thing I didn't realize I wasn't doing much of while on the med. There are many other things I'm noticing now that my head is clear that the timing definitely makes me believe were related to the med too. I'm happy to be Paxil-free! I had enough years of it!
