I'm looking forward to a fun soccer filled day tomorrow. Well, actually I'm expecting lots of frustration with the poor organization skills of the association, but the kids are still having fun, so I'm hoping their fun will be contagious and overpower the frustration. The dinner/dance for tomorrow has been cancelled (not enough tickets sold) and changed to an afternoon free event; hopefully they'll have my refund ready tomorrow.

Kaleigh gets to go to the "soccer jamboree" in the morning for all the 5-8year olds, where they will have 6 different stations to go around do. I'm a little nervous about the "soccer volleyball" station and really hope they aren't using regular soccer balls to attemp to play volleyball. That just seems like asking for injuries when its a group of 10-20 5 year olds

Poor Ken, will be busy with Kaleigh's stuff from 9-12 and miss seeing Shaelyn's last game which is at 10:15. I'll have to cheer extra loud

Now I should get back to work.

Prayers please for my nephew Ian - he's having an MRI done right now to see if a pollup in his nose is something sinister or not. They will also be doing a biopsy. He went thru a sweat test on Wednesday to rule out Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

I'm heading up to MD tonight after work (was already planned for his bday before the tests came up).

I picked a beautiful hot sunny summer day to be off work today

So far I've had a toilet installed, mowed the grass, front and back, and have done some weeding . I dragged the ladder outside and washed all of my windows. I then went to a couple of stores to look for clothes but had no luck. Sara is coming over soon and we are going for a walk.

I hope later on, when it's cooled off a bit, to bbq dinner,and plant a couple more flowers in my garden. I'm beginning to feel like this though

This World Cup has drawn me in like never before. I did follow Italia '90 but for some reason I am really into this one. Haven't missed too many matches.

But what is really interesting is I have been tweeting about the matches just for the heck of it and that combined with me tweeting about boardgames got me together with a guy from Argentina. We've been chatting on twitter and now facebook quite regularly. His english is a little broken but 10 times better than my spanish! But it is kind of funny how much we have in common. He likes boardgames and soccer and has 2 young daughters. And now I discovered he has a Blackberry (a Canadian company) just like me too.

And during today's match between Portugal and Brazil he predicted a Portuguese victory. I said it would end in a draw. He told me no way with these two great teams, someone will score. Despite lots of chances there was no score. He pressed me to change my "bet". I didn't budge.

I was right! So now I am trying to tell him what a great soccer nation Canada is and that our love of hockey is just a front to hide our in depth soccer knowledge. We don't want to take EVERYTHING away from the rest of the world.

Be careful please... we're in between you and Argentina and we really don't need a hockey/soccer war going on... (and just remeber.. you go on vacation with your OTHER online friends!!! )

Well... I woke up this morning with that pain again... that I really haven't had in a couple of weeks... But I had to take something... and missed most of this beautiful summer day that Kathe had... (and I had fix my toilet on the list too...)

I'm still confused. Why not just set up one email to automatically forward to the other account and have done with it.

In this case I agree with the DIS. One person, one email address.

(More specifically, an email address should only belong to 1 identity not multiples. My entire life in systems development, that has been the norm, otherwise user and account management is a nightmare.)

I finally got my driver's license renewed today. It expires on my birthday in August.

I went to an express location down in the Loop. Not too bad, considering I had to walk from my office to the Secretary of State location, take the eye exam, get a photo, and then walk back.

I managed to do it all in about an hour.

Good thing is wasn't very crowded. I went and sat in an empty part of the waiting area, well away from everyone, but wouldn't you know it, a flatulent loon came and sat down a chair away from me and decided she needed to have a chat.

She spoke something that might have been English, I'm not sure. I told her that I couldn't understand her unless she spoke clearly. I believe she wanted money for her driver's license.

I told her it wasn't my role in life to hand out cash. Then I found myself wondering, "They let people like this drive?"

There was some big to-do later one, because they had to have a manager come and speak to the loon.

I just want to know why I attract these people?

Well, everything was accomplished except for the planting of more flowers. Just got too worn out...but I did add a load of laundry to the list! I love having a day like this where I actually get things on my list done! I have to get up at 5:30 AM for work though...and I am tired...so will be heading to bed shortly. I SHOULD sleep well tonight!
