Deb, will be thinking of you next Monday  Hope the pain meds work better than you expect so you don't have too much pain :wizard:

Marilyn, have you heard yet when you go? Isn't this the day Shannon predicted you would hear?! ;)

Exactly. They have to press down to get a clear reading. I had one done a while back before I ever had this wound and I screamed in pain. I have fibromyalgia and if you press anywhere on my legs it hurts a lot. Add to it the edema and the wound and it's going to be very painful. But you know all about pain after having pancreatitus. How do you cope with it? I'm going to bite on a washcloth.

oh dear look very nice is it...

hope nothing serious and I send you my praying...

In honor of Castaway Cay day Sukie can eat white bread and potato salad for lunch which was what was suggested to him as the vegetarian alternative that day.

That was ridiculous!

What great memories.....

Yesterday was a tough and stressful day for John at work. He got the official notice that he is being transferred out of the fire alarm shop and into the hospital. He went to human resources and filed a hardship notification. If he's in the patients' rooms, he could carry any illness that they have and bring it home to me. Since I'm auto immune, I'll get every sickness. In the meantime, John started packing out his desk. He's been in this position for 18 years. Even if they change the transfer from out of the hospital, they will be moving him somewhere else. He may even work second shift so things could really change a lot.

Will they get back to him quickly on the hardship thing?

I scheduled my tests for next Monday. I'm getting an xray to see if there is any bone cancer and I'm getting an ultrasound to see if there is any circulation blockage in my leg. The ultrasound is going to be extremely painful. I'll have to take pain meds and bring a washcloth to bite. I'm not looking forward to it, but I know it has to be done.

There'll be a lot people sending pixie dust your way next Monday! Hopefully they are able to get some answers from the test.

::yes:: today is the day that Marilyn is supposed to hear. If it doesn't happen, I'll have to give up my dream of a second career as a psychic:goodvibes

Happy Tuesday everybody!

Michelle - I hope you are at least getting some beautiful night skies so you can admire the stars while you can't sleep.:goodvibes

I found out yesterday that I passed the first round of testing that I did in April for the gov't job I applied for. Now I have to go write the accounting test next week, so time to get busy reviewing my school work. :eek:Feeling nervous about this test, as I don't really know what type of questions to expect. But I'll do my best and see where it goes.:goodvibes

I think it is horrible going into something that you know will be so painful. Like you I would take some meds prior. Hopefully it will be over quickly for you.

Well, what do you know!!! I had a phone call and have a tentative date for Saturday 22nd!!!:lmao: My surgeon has given up doing general surgical procedures:confused3, so they have had a locum in but he is leaving. They are interviewing for a permanent replacement and hope he will be in place by then. They are trying to get a theatre and the day surgery ward organised for that day(they normally only work weekdays) and the Consultant's secretary has put me to the top of the list for that day. She said they are trying to catch up and it should be that day or around then. I have a friend who is a medical secretary at the hospital and she phoned her about me!!

Today is the 25th Anniversary of the Bradford City Fire disaster.

http://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/page/History/0,,10266~1013980,00.html

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rD4jI1x6SU

A bad fire started in the stands during a football game at our local big team, 56 people died that day, children and adults.

Our neighbour lost her husband and twin boys Richard and Robert, aged 12. They were in the same school year as our daughter.

The disaster had a huge impact on the city of Bradford and district. It was said that everybody knew someone who died or was seriously burned.

Just thinking about it is upsetting, even now.

I sang in the choir at the memorial service not long after, held in the stadium. So moving.

The local burns unit marvellously treated the many horrifically burned people, and money has continued to be raise at the football stadium over all the years for this unit. They have developed many new ways to treat burns and have become a world centre.

I felt I had to share.

Stopping by a day late.....as typical with me:rotfl: Boy, I just cannot believe that it was 2 years ago already....and how the friendships and bonds have just lasted. (and that we are on part 17!:goodvibes) It was an amazing trip....and I love how the girls will still talk about certain times on board or friends they have met (despite the rough start...remember Deb sent me the postcards as the final surprise for their xmas present and Taylor was mad because she wanted Smores the Pony not a dumb cruise!:rotfl2:)
Someone posted something about how great it was to turn the corner and see friends....that was the best of this cruise! Loved seeing all our new friends at any given moment.

Castaway Cay was today...and the bad mom I was letting Tay get severely burned :( but she forgave me and now won't fight me about re-applying sunscreen!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! We began our latest adventure with a wonderful MD present....staking out the location of our new home! Yup, we hope to break ground within the month:cool1::banana::cool1: Downsizing a bit so that we can travel more in the future:cool1: ie-MORE cruising!!!!

Miss you all!!!!

Sorry the EU thing is causing problems. It is to us too!!!!! At least we don't have Euros!

Me either... :rotfl:

What'd you do with my mother??? Oh yeah... that's when she got lost the first day...

One of the things I most enjoyed, was just going about your business on the ship, turning a corner and running into FRIENDS!

Like when this happened:

I  this picture!!!

& in that picture... don't we all look like we're related??? :goodvibes

::yes:: :cool1: Hope they are able to stick to their plan and get your surgery done!
What a tragedy that fire was. Its wonderful that so much has been done to improve burn treatment.

Add me to the list of bad mom's letting kids get sunburnt that day. I was so happy that at least their swimsuits had T-shirt style tops, so their backs/shoulders didn't get burnt like Ken & I.

There were just so many of us that it always happened didn't it?

I don't think that will ever happen again.

You have no faith!!! (and we're gonna walk right by you the next time we run into you... :flower3:)

I miss these people!!!
