Morning ladies!

I fell asleep on the couch then when I went into bed about 2AM I couldn't fall asleep.

So, I've been doing trip reserach and stuff for the last 2 and half hours!.

I think I will try and go back to bed now and get a few more hours sleep...don't want to totally ruin my day!

Sorry you couldn't sleep, but what a great way to get a jump on all the places you will soon be visiting.

Good Morning Marilyn.

At least we knew this storm was coming so we have everything we need.

Washington DC and surrounding areas are getting hit hard. Delaware has white out Blizzard warnings. I think they will get it the worst. Since we're land locked and not on the coastline, we'll do much better. We're getting a good amount, but nothing like the coast.

So Marilyn, are you all finished with your packing. YEAH you're leaving tomorrow. You must be excited to get the vacation started.

We got just a dusting here in Chicago. Not even worth shoveling and it's fairly warm at 28F/2.5C.

Good Morning All!

Quite a few errands today.

Sukie's iMac died this week, or at least I have pronounce the problems he's having as hardware failure related.

We have a 9am appointment at the Apple Store to bring it in for repair. His unit is still under Applecare, so this won't cost anything. The only rub is that we have to drive to a mall in the burbs to the Apple Store. There are 3 in the Chicagoland area. The one downtown is impossible with a car, and I'm not dragging his iMac on the El, and I'm too cheap for a taxi all the way downtown.

If his iMac (which is my old iMac) had not been under warranty I would have not bothered having it repaired. I would have just cascaded my iMac which is less than a year old to him and bought myself a 27" with a quad core processor.

The mall where we have to go isn't that far, it's in Skokie, about 20 minutes away.

Right now he's using my iMac. I had to create another user on and migrated him as a user on it (which on a Mac took about 5 minutes thanks to Time Machine) it so as to keep all of our things separate. However I'm not used to not being able to use my office whenever I want.

Right now he's holed up in there working on photos and his blog. I'm sitting in the kitchen at using the stupid web appliance (aka the Windows netbook), but at least I have access.

Now it could be very dangerous for me going into an Applestore too much temptation all around.

Jacks - I was thinking ya got a TA deal $699 is the same as the web site. I'm expecting it will still drop - last time it was $199 first and $99 each additional I suspect it will be the same and if it is and I can get a good flight and I can bail on work I'M GOING!!!

It's snowing at my house...so far just a few inches. The coastline is taking a pounding.

We'll see when it ends...just how much we get. I have heard anywhere from an inch to a foot.

There's enough out there now that John will be plowing us out today. It's a good thing it's Saturday.

Deb, I've just read reports of the really bad snow in Washington and area. Sounds like you need to stock up and hunker down!!!

I've been reading up on all the snow reports too. Stay warm and cozy inside Deb Glad you are not getting the worst of it though.

Tomorrow is SuperBowl Sunday. It's the last day of football for the season. Is anyone having a Superbowl party? The horses are playing the angels. I don't care who wins as long as it's a good game. Now what should I have for snacks during the game?

Remember, when you see Daniel, you must call him "Handsome" Daniel! You will see him, he's all over the ship...in every restaurant, including Palo at meal times and at every bar during the day...keeping an eye on his troups.

I've given this assignment to Angie & Dennis' daughter as well as other friends and DISers who are on this week's cruise. When they meet him they are saying "oh, so you are the HANDSOME Daniel I've heard about"

Just got to work....working today 12p-5p because of that blizzard in the mid Atlantic states.....my sis told me they've had about 2 feet already & it's still snowing. I told her it needs to stop & things need to clear up before next Saturday & my flight up there.

My coworker (working 8a-2pm, works from home) said that she's had 1 call...at 1025am. Hope my day goes like that...easy money plus able to to research more stuff for the EBTA.

Back from morning errands. The tech at the Applestore did not think it's a hardware problem. He recommended some software things to try first, so the iMac is back home.

I have to hurry, because we only have 41 days left on Applecare for it.

Would you believe that it is now behaving as good as gold. I suspect that the problems might have been caused by a faulty external hard drive. We are experimenting so we shall see,
