I am still working on Sunday, so I'm not off work completely.

I am going to try to leave work behind me. I had intended to phone in for an 8:30 am conference call this morning but forgot. I think I'll phone in on Monday. I was pretty PO'd with the new headquarters in NY. For TWO weeks I've been asking for direction on something and saying that I was going on vacation after 12pm on the 17th. I heard nothing from them. When did they decide to call? At 3:00pm on the 17th, when I was supposed to be gone.

Grrr That would really annoy me Ian, having work call you when they knew you were supposed to have started your vacation. I hope you enjoy your week off.

When Deborah said she bought roses for her mum, I thought it was a very sweet and special way to honor her mum. So I went looking to see what kind of roses I could get because my mom loved roses. This is what I have being delivered today.

It's perfect. My wedding bouquet was white lillies and red roses....for purity and passion. So I got this arrangement to remind me of my mom and also of the man that I married. Plus it's very Christmassy. I can't wait to smell it.

This should be post number 9999 for me. My next will be 10k. It took me just a little past 3 years to get here. I have known all of you for that amount of time. Nice chatting with you all.

Update on Marilyn...

Good news, Marilyn has turned a corner and is looking much better. Has come off morphine and pain is being controlled with less powerful things. The bad news is the dreaded note book is out now and lists of jobs are starting to come my way!! Thank you all so much for your prayers and good wishes. I read them all out to her today and she was so touched!

Ian and kids are in toilet while door shut and the door handle was broken, they couldn't get out I had to get my neighbour to help me and he managed to opened it as he took all the screw off and the handle was broken...

He said funny because his mum was talking about his brother lock out in the toilet as same things to us...

At least no one was stuck in there by themselves! This reminded me of Ian too...but also of Serenity locking herself in her bedroom not too long ago A very long time ago, a friend of mine was visiting me with her little boy and he locked himself in the bathroom and couldn't get out! That was before we had air conditioning, so thankfully the bathroom window was open a bit. I was able to get up on a ladder and climb through the window to rescue him My daughter still remembers me climbing and being stuck at one point half way through, with my legs still dangling outside

My shopping day went well today. I think I may even be done. It only took me 9 hrs

Now I have to report to work in 7 hrs then rush home and go to my SIL's for a Xmas dinner, then back to work Sunday AM then rush home and go to my mom's for our Xmas dinner there.

Then sleep in Monday!!! Monday and Tuesday I'm off and hope to get all the wrapping and baking done

I suppose it is an thing that "ian's" share. The lock to the door broke when I got stuck in the bathroom. It took me a couple of hours to get out.

OK Sweetie, here we go. So this morning I opened the mystery box, it was the cruise doc's for my birthday cruise I said "how cool they gave us a neat little book to must be for our castaway club gold membership"

Update from John... Marilyn MUST be feeling better...

Imagine the scene. Marilyn being admitted into the ward last Monday, doubled up in the worst pain ever, unable to speak. She spots a TV over the bed and says "I wonder if they have internet here!!!!!!!!!"

Hey, I have to live with him and besides I wanted door signs with the SR number to remember this cruise. He's my graphic designer.

Really, we're talking over coffee this morning and I just couldn't wait to talk to him about it. Since it was already wrapped and under the tree, I figured it couldn't hurt to do it a little early. It's a surprise for his birthday and not Christmas after all......I'm trying to justify my actions....I practically had to beg him to open it. He wanted to wait until Christmas. I was not having any of that. I'm so glad he knows now so I can plan with him. He said to me, I'm in a suite.....I might have to pack nicer clothes.

.....A funny true story....when calling the special concierge number for the first time and making my requests, I asked to purchase bottled water as we normally do on all cruises. They said to me, "Oh, no need....you're conciege and the bottled water will be waiting for you at your wet bar each day." EXCUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSE ME!! In steerage we have to pay extra. hahahaha......I'm going to like this cruise!

Ok, here's the story for today ... no story.

We had no errands to run ... at all.

Sukie went up to go to Library at Loyola University to do some research, but got there and found out it was closed. We decided to go downtown, so I rendezvoused with him on an L Platform.

We went to Macy's and bought nothing. We went to the German Christmas Village near city hall and bought nothing.

It was gray and wet out so we just came home.

My biggest excitement for the day was that I tried on my new Neos overshoes that arrived this week and wore them downtown. That was as exciting as it got.

And I have to admit that I really DO like my new overshoes. They are extremely cool.

I suppose life is pretty boring when a new pair of overshoes is as good as it gets.

Do you have snow Ian?


Ours started at 1:00 pm.....we just have a light dusting so far. We're supposed to get an inch today and then up to 8 more inches overnight. At least it's better than 2 feet like some people are getting.

I just checked our local forecast again....now it says 3 inches today and 8 inches overnight. That's still just under a foot so we're good. Two feet is a lot more snow.
