We were in Scranton, PA on Monday for my doctor appointment. Here's a look at fall up there....meaning northern Pocono Mountains.

It's a very very old neighborhood, look at the ivy on the building.

Look at this old church on the corner of my doctor's office.

Love the pics! Thanks for posting!!

Hi any Dream Sailing News?? What is everyone doing. I did see you can only book 1 room per G/P and that G/P book on the same day. Thoughts?

Leave for Grand Floridian tomorrow morning 4am....haven't packed yet and watching Tech Football!!
Lisa

Lisa - my thoughts are on the previous page (won't bore people by repeating things haha).

Have a safe trip & have a GREAT time!!

Been jumping around on the DIS a little after lunch and now at the end of the work day and have seen some pictures. Monica, I'm with you on the contemporary look and WHAT'S UP WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO SPLIT THE QUEEN BED?????

I might consider changing my Alaska for a five night the summer of 2011, but will have to give that lots of thought, and look at the $$$ comparison. Hmmm wonder what the preceeding cruise for one of those is. Guess I need to go look at the dates. Doing a B2B that included a 5 day might be good. Oh wait.....I promised myself I'd never go back to Florida in the summer! :lmao::lmao:

KAZ....nice to see you over here!

If I have to get onboard for 3 nights I'm doing a B2B. Then I'll use every day as a sea day. There's a lot to explore and have fun with onboard this new ship. Awesome!!! I love all the pics and can't wait to be there. 45 mins. now. WOOHOO!!!!

I can't see trying to do the ship in 4 nights... it's so big... how are you going to relax and do even some of what's on board???

& I think they're gonna need a fast pass system for that slide...

This is so exciting. It's like the night of the fishes...ut oh, I hope we don't crash the site.:scared1::scared1::scared1:

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Must say....I am actually disappointed by the renderings of the Dream. The rooms are smaller & the fact that it doesn't look like you can split the beds in the "cheap" rooms....so that means 1 person gets the bed & the other the couch.

I do NEED to go on her, but contemporary is not my style. I do like the rooms (again the "cheap" ones) but I really don't like the renderings of the concierge level rooms. WAY too modern for me!

I think I read the dates of 11/2 for Gold/Platinum and 11/9 for silvers. I did also see $400 deposit per person/nonrefundable....I wonder if they would allow shifting to another cruise/sailing. (very important to get that answer). I also saw that G/P sailers will only be able to book 1 room per member....oh well - Thanks anyways Lisa & Deb :goodvibes Will have to see what is left over for us peons! (I can't spell :rotfl:)

Don't think I'm going to bother w/ a b2b on her....4 nts will probably be enough...I'd be able to try out the new restaurants & clubs plus look around while people are in Nassau :)

I'm sure that the beds will split... they will have to... how else will they be able to fit people in the staterooms... does it show the pull down bed too?

I think the staterooms are a bit too modern for my tastes... and I don't see the steamer trunk.... where's the cooler box go?

Lots of questions still to be answered...

I don't need to be on the inaugural... I think they are doing the 1 cabin per because of too many people double booking like they do for the PC cruises... they get alot of cancellations and it drives the prices up...

They say that these rooms hold 3 or 4 people....3=2 in queen bed, 1 sofa.....4=2 in queen bed, 1 sofa, 1 pull down bed. It can be done w/o splitting the bed. Look at the rendering - the bed frame doesn't have any legs in the middle.

no cooling boxes - actual fridges. Couldn't tell where tho in pics

Makes sense - also 1 cabin per also allows more CC members the possibility to get a room IMO

The small print at the bottom says the artist renderings may not be the actual construction... so I hope they add extra legs...

& bedskirts or something... who wants to see my luggage stuck under the bed all week... :lmao:

Michelle, Deborah can't do the meet on Saturday. Is Sunday around noon good for you? It's good for me and John. We'll meet at the hotel and go for a champagne brunch somewhere nearby.:thumbsup2

We'll have to find the hotel and determine whether we're going into Manhattan or not and then decide if you and mom are riding with me and John. We could meet you at your brother's house if it's on the way.

Is the hotel in Jersey City and your brother is in Teaneck?

OK Michelle, the Hudson Hyatt is in Jersey City and I think we should just do lunch at Vu...their restaurant. Jersey City is not the best of areas. They have a nice lunch menu and we can order champagne. Done! Keep it simple. What do you girls say? Michelle? Deborah?

If it's good with you, we can make ressies.

and I'll just zip over that day too ;) NOT!!!

Oh hush up and just take BART to Embarcadero and change for the Ravenswood Brown line. Get off at Western. We're 2 blocks away from the L stop.

Oh so you want me and Michelle and Deborah to drive over to Chicago to see you too? We would love to but I don't think we have that much time.

I'm just over an hour from the city and Shell is just over 2 hrs. We can meet at her brother's house and John can drive us into the city. We can then park and take a cab. That's what we usually do in NYC. In fact, we're going in on this Sunday to Grand Central to see the Scrooge Train.

Are you saying that it's not worth the drive to Chicago and dinner at Eastwood Manor?

Works for me... I'll come south on Saturday and visit the family...

Of course it is... but We must get Deborah to her flying coach before it turns back into a pumpkin... :wizard:

I guess I'm waiting on Marla at DU to see if I get on the Dream. She's handling my western that I'm transferring. So I suppose that I should wait and see if she can get me a ressie. I don't want to complicate things.:confused3

So... that's Nov. 29th, right??? You should call and see if they serve brunch...

No brunch menu listed....just breakfast or lunch and lunch was more reasonably priced....believe it or not. Let's do lunch and just order champagne.

Yes, it's November 29th at noon at the Hyatt.

WE'RE CONFIRMED NOW DEBORAH. WE WILL BE THERE....Michelle, Barbara, John and me. Bring any friends that want to join us. The more the merrier.

Now who is making the ressies?:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

OK, Deborah, I'm assuming that you're bringing one other person for now. I'll make a ressie online for 6. If that number changes, let me know and I'll update.:goodvibes
