Are you well and still enjoying work?

Ya, I guess!!! I applied for a permanent position but I didn't get it. It is the only one that I would have applied for because I'm not sure I want to work all the time. I really wanted that one but oh well. I hear that a credentialed teacher got it. The teacher that I would have worked for isn't happy about it. Jon keeps telling me to take time off so maybe I will but I doubt it.

Do you have a new job?

It is scary but it's gonna be so fun to meet new friends and rewarding to learn a new job. I'm so excited for you. And the money is alright too!

Hi Marilyn, ::yes:: I will be starting a new job on Jan 18th. My last day here is Jan 15th. I have been with this current company for almost 25 years. So I am excited and scared at the same time. It was a long thought out decision to make the switch, but I know that once I get into my new position I will enjoy it. It is a step up in my automotive career. I'm currently an office manager for a Volkswagen dealership, and my new position is with a Chevrolet/Cadillac dealership as Controller.

Thanks Gay, I think having you guys come up that weekend will help me unwind from my final day here. Saddle Ranch here we come.

They never found out what it was? Being in pain like that will take away some energy.

Yes, acute pancreatitis. Nasty illness, but fortunately I didn't go down the road of total organ failure, so I will be ok!!! They couldn't actually treat it, just treat the symptoms and help towards not going worse, so IV fluids, pain relief, oxygen, catheter for measuring output(TMI!!), 4 hourly blood sugar tests etc, fasting and rest and observations. All good!!!!:thumbsup2 Very restfull!!!!!:lmao:

Congratulations on the new job. I hope you really enjoy it and are thoroughly settled there very soon. Do you get a good discount???

Oh, time off gives some breathing space for thinking what you really want to do(plus you get on here more) Think about it.

It should be fine, and I shouldn't have a recurrance, though they found no cause for it. Most common cause is gallstones, then alcohol, then some other things. They did an ultrasound scan to rule out gallstones, I only drink a little(and can't drink anything at all now as even a little could set it off), and did some blood tests to see if some other things caused it. Nothing was turned up.

Some people get chronic pancreatitis if they have a few attacks, but they are the alcoholics I believe who can't give it up. That isn't nice at all.

I have been :surfweb: too!!

Must go get some tea now.

Please pop in again sometime.

Still wish we could all cruise again sometime, but it just isn't going to happen.

I'm thinking about it. I have only not worked 2 days since I have been working for 18 months. Not counting summer and breaks I mean. Jon says I am the perfect sub. I just work without asking questions and I don't take time off. It is usually one long term after another.

I had gallstones in my pancreas after I had Ethan. They said that he laid on my gallbladder and that's what caused them. Then they flowed over into my pancreas. I wonder why alcohol would cause problems. I didn't know one had anything to do with the other.

The following should NOT be discussed on Facebook.

I am exhausted this morning, I didn't get to bed until about 2:00 am and I was up at about 6:00 am today.

I took Sukie to an emergency room yesterday evening. They ended up admitting him and he may have surgery today. We don't know yet.

It started at 12 am on Monday night or Tuesday morning, whichever. He woke up with stomach pains. I never knew he got up.

I decided to work from home, but had to go into the office to get my laptop, so I had to go all the way downtown then turn around and come home.

I originally thought that it was just a stomach ache. By 7:00 pm he still had stomach pains and thought we should go to the hospital. Our doctor is in one of the north shore suburbs and the hospital she's affiliated with is about a 20 to 30 minute drive away. I didn't think he was up to the drive and so took him to a hospital that's about 5 minutes from our house.

After x-rays etc. at 1:00 am they told us he had an intestinal blockage and were admitting him.

A surgeon is coming to see him this morning and they'll determine if they are going to operate.

I have a couple of conference calls this morning and then heading back to the hospital.

MAJOR PRAYERS AND PIXIE DUST.... :grouphug: :grouphug:

Take care of Sukie for us and if you need ANYTHING - even to talk... let me know...

Much love!!!

We aren't dead yet so there is still hope. It just has to be the perfect cruise at the perfect time, just like the last time.

Hello. I am well, thank you. How are you? Is your living room filled with toys too?

Depends on what you mean by toys...:rolleyes1

I am, slow day, most of what I have on my list to get done before I leave I have to wait until next week. Today is just a couple of DMV bundles and getting my files and such in order for the new person. It kind of feels weird to only have 2 weeks left here.:scared1::yay::scared1::yay::scared1::yay:
