Does anyone have a good recipe for burgers? We are having a burger taste off tonight because we are trying to decide what to do for the river. I need at least four different recipes and I only have two. One is with garlic salt, onion powder and Worcestershire. One is with A1, garlic salt, onion powder and ground pepper. I was also thinking of doing something with onions and garlic in it but I don't know if that would be too strong for the kids.

Try here....http://www.foodnetwork.com/burgers/package/index.html

Bobby Flay is the man to go to for grilling.

I hated that bacon. It was too floppy. We miss room service at 2:00 am, well at least the kids do. When you eat at 5:00 pm it doesn't last until 12:00 pm the next day.

G... dinner at 5 for you west coasters is called LUNCH... :rotfl:

Me too! We'll do that then and we'll share it with Michelle. Cheers with bubbly!:lovestruc

I was just going to go into a corner with a bottle of my own...

It was our 2nd cruise. :goodvibes Tyler was 3 and Bethany was 7. Funny that he's now the age she was when we met them.

Yup, Bethany's great. She's always got lots to say, but she's got a big heart. :thumbsup2

Heather just called me. She's out getting everything she needs for Bethany's birthday party tomorrow, and the kids are swimming at their house with Tom. She told me Tyler was starving, so she got him McDonalds and then he slept all the way to Tampa and is doing great with them. I'm not surprised. He just loves them all. We have a couple pictures from this week where Tyler's just hugging Heather as tight as he can, with a big smile on his face. Hugging is very rare for Tyler to do!

It's good that Tyler feels comfortable with them... Think maybe its because you have Tom there as an influence?

I can't wait to see what it's going to cost. I'm kind of worried because I read on other threads that people are already reserving through their TAs. That is insane to do before you know how much it's going to cost. Plus Disney knows a lot of people want to go on it so they can make it any price they want.

I don't think it's going to be much different... it will have the new ship to compete with - even though they will be doint 3/4 day cruises...people want to see what they are like.

Because you think this stuff from before was pre-life...testing life...embryonic life... okay it's the weekend time to PARTY oops started that last night, rule breaker I know ;)

::yes:: pictures please and CONGRATS!!!!

go ahead tell them Paul and I are just along to for him to drive and me to navigate. I can't wait to see you guys :woohoo

Hello...can't ya tell me yourself????:rolleyes1

My boys went to that our first day of the Repo vaca and I was sad I wanted to see it with Willie, but instead I had more fun and met the DISers at DTD and of course Plankie too:yay: (paul says it is a weird movie also and therefore I still haven't rented it a year later and you know me race fan # 1)

Hey is your birthday coming up????? On June 16th shhhhhhhhhhh I won't tell anyone :flower3:

Maybe I'll have to bring some bubbles in the car along with some strawberries for a treat on the road side with some friends ;)

Busy day for us...Miss Molly and I are meeting friends for a birthday lunch and suprise EAR PIERCING :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Molly's BFF, Hannah's bday is today and they have planned for years to get their ears pierced together when they are 13 (ok we their moms have planned this and they agreed) so to suprise them we decided to have them do it this year, at 12. Today is Hannah's bday and we are going to lunch and then to Cinnabon and at Cinnabon I will give them each their boxes of cinna...oops earring gift cards!!!!! They get $12 to buy earrings and we will get their ears pierced right then and there. Then when Molly turns 12, ~ 6weeks later they can take out their starter earrings and wear their birthday ones or whatever. Wish us luck in keep the suprise until it happens, these girls are really sneaky....I'll post pics on FB so what for us there :yay:

Gotta go get the boy at school, drop him at his friends. And I almost forgot he has another playoff game tonight D'backs vs Giants....GO D'BACKS!!!!!!

Yes... Planky remembers that too... and good for Molly!!! (I think I should go now and see if I still have pierced ears...) Now at least you know what to get her for Xmas... Earrings!!!

I looked at the weather today and on one site it said it was going to be in the 80's. It said 79 for the first day. Then I called Kim to tell her and she went to weather.com and it said over 100. I don't know what to think anymore :confused3

Average it out...

Not for burgers but I love to make what one of the restaurants I used to work at used to make which is the grilled chicken with bacon, swiss cheese and grilled pinapple - with russian dressing on a hard roll... VERY GOOD...

No, it doesn't slow down that much, a little, but as I said, by only a 1 or 2 points. I all comes back to activity level, people's activity levels really start to drop off.

If I think about myself, in my 20's I was a lot more active than I am now, primarily because I walked 25 blocks to work in the morning, then partied every night.

I have to add that I was 100 pound lighter in my '20's than in my teens, so it is definitely not an age thing.

Ian, darling... you need to read a few books about peri-menopause and menopause and hormone changes... it affects it... maybe not drastically in all... but it does...

I was surprised how many points bacon was. Not as many as I figured. Of course you can't eat all you want but it's not to bad for a weekly treat.

I've had bacon one time since I started WW.....I just counted out the pieces and the points and kept it under control. It worked just fine. It's not as bad as you would think it should be.

I got pregnant the end of August 2001, so just under 8 years ago. It should be doable, it will take time. Look at how much weight Gydell lost and she's older than me. And Ian lost tons of weight too. I can do it too. If necessary, I'd settle for 50 pounds. :thumbsup2

Gydell looks awesome. I know you can lose a lot of weight. I'm just saying that maybe you won't make it all the way back to your "skinny" weight like when you were young.

It actually does not have that much of an effect. Though you may lose a point over the course of 20 years.

It isn't aging that has the impact, but people becoming more sedentary as they get older. So in the end, it's the result of being less active not age.

Thanks Ian.....that's good to know.....no excuses then and I stand corrected. Now I just have to make sure I increase my activity as I lose weight and don't think about the age thing at all.

I have known some people that use a French Onion Soup mix. They just throw the dry ingredients in with the meat and mix it up. It comes out good.

Wow that's really an eye opener. You're dispelling all the myths that I have believed all my life. It's so good to know and get it right. Just gotta get active and stay that way.

Hey a girl has to keep herself pure for somethings ;)

I looked at her little ear lobes with cute little freckles last night and thought about how grown up my baby is :sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:

but then I thought about how exctied she will be that she is growing up and doing this with her BFF.

I'm glad we waited. Ever since she asked I told her she had to wait until she was 13 and knowing Molly that WAS the right choice.

I think I forgot to tell you last week I caught her with mascara on :scared1: She looked so cute :cutie:

Gotta go, wish us luck !!!

Good Luck!!! WIN WIN WIN!

I firmly believe in sweeping away, myths, fantasy and magical thinking, at least in the area of weight loss. We can't manage with myths. We can't manage with magical thinking. Even worse, they remove ownership and accoutability.

Facts give us accountability. Even more important, facts give us control. We can manage with facts and information. It means we do have a choice, and we can effect change.

Believe me, I speak as one who lived in the land of fantasy for many years, and such thoughts as it did count if I ate something in front of the open fridge.

:scared1::scared1::scared1:What, you mean it counts if the fridge door is open, the clock in the hall strikes the 1/2 hour and I leave the light on in the closet???:scared1::scared1:

No just kidding, I had a good WI today at my WW meeting. Down 2lbs. I think I have over come what was keeping me from losing. I was not eating enough. I get 6+ activity points on most days, but I was not using them or my 35 weekly points. Now I have been aloting my 35 weekly each day and now the scale is starting to move again.:cool1: Plus with another 2 down, I get two more song downloads for my Ipod. :yay: Any suggestions?

I couldn't agree more.....I love to be enlightened. It's always easier to deal with the truth....that you can manage.

Thank you oh great evolved one.;)

I'm thinking of getting Mom an Ipod to take to the cape with her... (and a cute guy at the apple store to show her how to use it... :rotfl:)

& deb... my bubbly may have to be ginger ale depending on meds... but I'll try... :lovestruc

Bravo!

I thought the topic a couple of weeks ago about the cycle of motivation was really interesting. It's all sort of cyclical. Well done!

I wish I could say that it wasn't a struggle any more, but I can't say that, though I would say that instead of struggling as much, I just juggle more, points, choices and activity.

(Regarding activity, I always remind myself that when I started a bit over 4 years ago, I had trouble walking 2 blocks).

One happy, joyous thought ...
I'm not working tomorrow!

:banana:No subbing any meetings tomorrow!

I'm feeling really rebellious! I might sleep-in until 5:30 or 6:00 AM!

NOW I KNOW WHY THERE'S 7 NEW PAGES...

HI GAYLEAN!!!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Hello. I've spent the last few hours looking at hamburger recipes.....I love summer. don't look at the dirty dishes or clothes all around
