I'll say an early goodnight to you all now! I want to check out a few more threads on the dining plan. I still haven't made a decision on this for my May trip. I was only going to get a one day park ticket with my package, since I still have an AP this trip, but now I'm thinking of getting a longer no expiry ticket that I could use for future trips. I probably won't be getting another AP any time soon.

I have a very sore back today, haven't had this pain for a long time, sure hope it is short-lived  I have had to cancel my hair appointment for tomorrow, I just wouldn't be able to sit comfortably. I'm supposed to go out with my mom for lunch, I hope I don't have to cancel that to...I'll wait and see how I feel in the morning. I couldn't sleep because of it last night, so am very tired today. At least I'm off work for the next two days. Have a good night all!

Kathe
Kathe, I hope your back feels better quickly.

So I smacked some sense back into my computer, but now I'm too tired to stay up any longer. We have to get up earlier than normal tomorrow for "breakfast and a book" at Tyler's school. Breakfast will start at 7:45am and we bring a book to read while we eat breakfast. I doubt I'll be able to read that early in the morning when my eyes aren't even fully awake until about 10am.

Deb- I am sorry you had to cancel your trip. I want to eat in the Castle in Dec. I hope you get your reservations!

So for those who remember, we are fostering a cat, Moe. Well we haven't told our parents as they would flip out. Well Matt's mom is watching the cats in April and we think she will notice. :lmao: Matt is telling her about him this weekend. Moe is doing ok, still skittish but comes up to us now. However, he is very dominant and a big bully. He takes treats from the other cats mouths! We are working on sharing though. He and PJ are attached and go everywhere together.

Ohhh Jill.... haven't you and Matt adopted him yet??? ;)

Ohhh Jill.... haven't you and Matt adopted him yet??? ;)

Haha, nope not yet. They want us to keep him though. I went to check-in and tell the agency how he was doing and they were surprised! I said he would need a home with another cat, and people who would work with him, & we weren't sure if he likes kids. They said it sounded like he already had his home. I have been good about not getting attached, PJ is another story. Matt forgot to tell him not to get attached.

Well, give it time... he may already be part of your family...

Ii was just thinking about you... (don't tell V... ;) )

Sweet Mickey Dreams as Deb says... :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

Ken - LOVE the pics! So how did you guys break it to the girls?

Oh yeah I guess I forgot to tell that story ...

Well, one slight problem was that the night before, because Shannon was out writing her exam, I let the girls stay up until 9:30pm. Which is bad because their normal bedtime is 8pm.

so at about 5:30am on Saturday morning Shannon and I had gotten dressed and loaded the car and then we went barging into the girls' room said "Good Morning! Who wants to go to Disneyland?"

Well they stirred a bit and even said NO!. Until we explained that we were heading there TODAY. Once it sunk in they were excited and ready to go. I have never seen them get moving and dressed so quickly. But I think Shannon and I blew it with how we phrased the question. I believe they thought we meant "someday" and not right that instant.

So it was cute and funny. Especially the "No" response. I have it all on video tape and will have to transfer it to the web on our return.

Busy day. nice and warm in the park today. Just like I wanted!

We started the day with Breakfast in the Park with Minnie & Friends. We had a nice surprise in the park the other day when some strager cameup to us and handed us 5 vouchers for Breakfast in the park ($10.76 each off the price of the meal) which was usable towards a character meal as well. We had already booked Minnie for today so this was a nice add-on. We ended up wth over $40 savings because of that nice gentleman.

From there we went to Splash Mountain and got nice and wet. The one thing however, was that the lineup said a 60 minute wait and I don't think it was even 45 minutes. But it was funny, the lineup for the Fastpass tickets was nearly as long as the wait for the ride!!
I love this saying from the ride so I took a pic of it:

After Splash we hightailed it over to Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain. It was Kaleigh's first time on it and she LOVED it!! Woohoo just like her dad. She preferred it over Splash Mountain (if she's going to get wet, let her go swimming!) and BTMRR; but not more than Buzz Lightyear (she's just now stopped calling him "Buzz Lightbeer").

We then went and rode Autopia, where Kaleigh got to drive for the first time, I believe as I can't remember from the tail-end of the PC cruise.

After that we went to ride Nemo. And it was during that ride that we finally heard from Gaylean. She called Shannon at EXACTLY the moment we were gettig loaded onto the subs. We had waited for 45 minutes in the line, but Gaylean chooses to call at that precise moment! But it gets better!! (Just wait a minute)
Here are the girls in the sub getting ready to get under way and acting a little crazy:

After Nemo we called Gaylean back and get this: She was bailing on us!! All her whining on here and she bailed on meeting us at the park today!! Sheesh :)

Then we headed over to Pixie Hollow to meet Tinkerbell and her friends.

A little backstory here: I have ALWAYS called Shaelyn my little Tink. It's been there I think since she was born. So there is a special connection (in my mind at least) between Shaelyn (which actually means "from the fairy fort") and Tinkerbell. In addition to that connection, I have been reading the Tinkerbell and her Fairy Friends books to Shaelyn and Kaleigh since the first book came out quite some time ago. So we all know the fairies inside out and backwards. To get the opportunity to actually meet the fairies, and Tinkerbell was just too much to ask. And yes, I couldn't resist pulling out my camera for some shots in addition to some video (which will have to wait until later to get psoted).

Shannon took this beautifully framed pic at Pixie Hollow:

Here are the girls with Rosetta:

And with Tink herself:

Seeing Shaelyn so excited about meeting Tink was one of the feel good moments for parents. It is certainly what the magic of Disney is all about. I'm not sure if Tink really realizes how much that little encounter with a little blonde girl meant to the kid and her parents. But it was special on this end for sure.

Then we went to the castle, after riding the bobsleds, for a quick pic:

And got to walk through the castle with the new Sleeping Beauty walkthrough encounter. There were some not so patient and respectful people in there (people can be quite rude) but we didn't let it phase us. However, as for the attraction it was really well done and we enjoyed it.

We then thought of all of you and went on "It's a Small World"
183655.jpg

I thought the new additions were well placed and done quite nicely. It was fun going through the attraction looking for the new additions:
This is the one Shannon thought was the best:

I was kinda partial to Peter Pan and Tink for reasons I think you might understand now.

WE got a bite to eat, went to ride Dumbo and Alice and then called it a night. Bought some ice cream and the Cold stone Creamery here at the hotel and watched the fireworks then hit the sack. The girls are all asleep as I type this.

We have to get up early as tomorrow we are driving to San Diego to go to Seaworld. Not sure what time we will get back but we are doing the whole park in one day so it is going to be BUSY and rushed! But we will have fun. I am really wanting to take Kaleigh to the tide pools there as I remember Shaelyn the first time we took her.

Anyhow, there's the long post. If you want to look at more pics of the day just check out my website's pics for today by clicking here.

But now I hear my pillow calling my name. Good night all. Good morning Marilyn and Deborah!

Oh and one pic that my darling daughter (Shaelyn) took while on It's a small world:

Oooh, poor you Kathe. Take care and let it get better rather than worse.

We have stopped doing the dining plan as we felt it restricted us and made us eat too much!!! Have you made your ADR's yet?

That is funny!!! :lmao: Don't children surprise you? They were probably still half asleep too.

Thanks for all the photos and report of your day. I wish we were there. We so enjoyed DL when we went for the first time last May and hope to go back someday. Can't believe Gaylean did that!!!

I agree that you tend to eat much more with dining plan.

I have started to use the WW tool for living, "Mental Rehearsal" and "Storyboarding."

I've been thinking about how I'm going to manage eating, and making healthier choices.

This May trip is going to be a real challenge!

Ken, I loved your report of yesterday and all the pictures! But it's amazing how small the castle is there. It's still beautiful though! :goodvibes Can't wait to see your Sea World pics because that's Tyler's favorite spot and he LOVES the orcas best (and sleeps with a couple every night too!). :thumbsup2

Still waiting for Gaylean's pics from last weekend!

Shannon's favourites are he orca's as well. She has already decided we will be doing the Shamu show twice!

Anyhow just a quick pop in before getting moving. Time to get the kids up!
