THIS is a Public Service Announcement from the Planky Board of Kitchen Safety...

When one is microwaving left overs, it is strictly advised that one does not stick two fingers into said leftovers when the plastic wrap on such is blown up something short of a jiffy pop ready to explode...

Doing such can cause scalding of such fingers, causing them to swell up like big old sausages, turn red and make you say things that are only heard on cable TV...

(I'll give you one guess who did this today... )

In addition to bad language... lunch was ruined... (what a pity...)

Our advice to said stupid person is to spend the rest of the day with her fingers in cool water and to refrain from taking any heavy utensils and beating the microwave up.

Good morning all.

I woke up in a start, I was afraid I was late for work and had forgotten to turn on my alarm. It was quite a while until I realized it was Saturday. I even had to go look at my computer to be sure of the date.

I rather like it right now. The total silence in the house.

Oh face the truth. You woke up with a start because yo realized it was Saturday and I was going to be on the road and thus you wouldn't get your tweet from. That's what truly had you concerned.

Hi All! Not much going on at home here either. John is cooking corned beef and cabbage and potatoes in the crock pot in BEER. He's using a dark stout and it adds great flavor. We're ready for St. Patrick's Day.

Marilyn and Deborah, do you guys celebrate it over there like we do here?

Ken and Shannon (I know you're away, but you'll see this eventually) how about you guys??? Kathe how about you???

I talked to my brother recently and he told me he finally got a permanent placement on a ship in Corpus Christie, TX. That's great news. Now he'll get paid vacation time when he's off the ship and he knows he has a job to go back to. I'm very happy for him.

Sandi sent us an email update. Tom is living with her Aunt down there (her mother's sister). She said he's doing well. He went back into school and will gratuate in May, he has a date for the prom and he joined the local volunteer fire department. I'm glad to hear that he's making some positive progress.

We're doing Minnie's character breakfast for St. Patrick's Day. I guess the girls will be dressed up in their Minnie outfits, so I'm not sure how much green they will be wearing that day.

Can't post much as Shannon is reading over my shoulder. So that leaves me not able to post all the juicy details and keep it secret from her.

I'll post more tomorrow, but tonight I'm bagged and ready for bed. We made it down here and I think I got less than 6 hours sleep since Friday. And yes that will include an pdate on how it went with the girls and the big secret!

Tomorrow is first day in the park - I'm even too bagged to post pics (that Shannon took) tonight. Look for an update tomorrow night afte we get back. I'll make this thread mini trip report as we go along...

Hi, we just got back from our 7 day on the Magic! It was great for us but some people had problems since one of the stabilizers was acting up.
Quite a rock and rolling trip. Then I got sick on the last night.....you don't want to know the details....but think Norwalk virus symptoms.....I am better today, but yesterday was not too good......

But the rest of the trip was great! talk to you soon! Connie

I phoned the hospital and cannot get through so Ian and I went to town then went to hospital and they said must have an appointment..

I explained that I phoned several times and cannot get through and they had changed the phone nos...

They told me to wait as it was about one hour waiting... then finally

I got new hearing aid but didnt suit me and they told me that my hearing test last 4 years ago and think I might have hearing loss...

I will go back for hearing test and it will be within 6 weeks time...

I am upset and cannot hear clearly with new hearing aid....

So sorry about this Deborah. How annoying and upsetting. You do fantastic with your hearing aid so it must be awful with one not as good. Hope you manage at work ok.

Well, my cute little computer that I bought myself with my Christmas bonus from work is on the fritz. Tyler accidentally knocked it onto the floor! It really was an accident.....I'm the one who left it in an unsafe place. I always keep it on the arm of the couch so it's right where I need it while watching TV, but that's only when Tyler's at his dad's....when he comes home, I usually remember to move it to a table or under the couch. Well, this time I forgot and you know how kids just flouce onto the couch, well it bounced right off onto the floor.

It worked for a little while last night, maybe an hour, and then it just shut itself off when I was in the middle of typing an e-mail. When I tried to turn it back on, the screen just kept flashing from black to gray and back again, never fully coming on.
