Whilst it is obvious most bad posts have gone, I do get the drift. Why do people get that way. Seems like a little clique was on there and some feelings got hurt. I loved the comment about a thread not needing a queen. Seems like it did have one who everyone bowed down to. I hope the new thread is better.

The "Queen".... btw... not any member of OUR Royal Society:snooty:... got tossed off last month... she went on to start her own website and discussion boards...

& with that I must bid you adieu... it is lime juice time.. .oh happy happy joy joy... :dance3:

I will see you in a few hours... try to keep it down over there..

Oh and... um... have you started packing yet?

I have been collecting things together in the spare room, but whilst I have this cough, John has moved in there, so all the stuff is all over the place.

Bubba swore he didn't know what was going on outside

HI everyone, to say life has been hectic is a giant understatement. Dan finished school in mid January and has not been a happy camper since. This transition has been very bad for him. Even though I have not been on the boards in several months, I do think about everyone often. Michelle, you always know how to get me to poke my head back in and remind me of what kind people there are here. I have booked the Northern European Capitols trip, but am hoping I will have the cash to cover it by Mar 2010. It seems like every day either something is happening with dan or the house needs something else. But you don't need to hear the usual. Hugs to all and hope to get back on again before 3 more threads close out.

Steve

Hey Steve! We were looking at PC photos the other day and thinking about you!

Welcome to Friday!
Your Gateway to the Weekend!

Very excited .... No WW on Sunday! I have and entire weekend off!

Good morning everyone - I'm here at work on my last 830a-530p shift :sad2: Back to the 1015a-715pm shift on Monday. Little bummed about that - oh well, at least I have my job :)

Spent some time chatting on FB last night with a dear, dear friend from HS - we lost track of each other for YEARS and she found me on FB (thru a mutual friend).

My vacation starts in 2 weeks!! :yay::woohoo::dance3::cool1::banana:

Need to run errands tomorrow - bank, oil change, shoe shopping and :laundy: Also have 2 dvds to watch from Netflix - the 3rd dvd in the Bramwell season 1 series & Something the Lord Made.

Weighed in this am - I'm up 1.8 - actually did better than I feared.

Morning all.

Just sitting here lounging this morning. Shannon is still in bed. Kids are watching TV.

Shaelyn has to go sell Girl Guide cookies this morning. Later tonight Shannon is going over to a friends house to help her bake a cake using "fondant".

Not really much in the way of plans for today - just a kick back and relax day I guess on day 1 of my 4 day weekend. Oh yeah and I apparently have some photoshopping to get done too...

Did have some bad news yesterday, apparently Shannon's sister had her basement "flooded" yesterday (flooded=2 inches of water in the basement). It is a finished basement and two of her kids sleep down there. So their house is in a bit of chaos this weekend. We are waiting to hear if they need us to come help out and get their house back in order.

Other than that, not much to report north of the border (or across the pond)...

A. What is photoshopping? I'm intrigued.

B. How did the basement flood?

He looks like he's snarling out the window.

(I'm mean because I want to be Bubba. He's my hero, so it's jealousy.)

And here I thought it was cause "you like him, you really like him" said in my best Sally Fields voice

Regarding a gain, what I always tell members is to take a step back and look at the trend. Is the trend in the right direction?

Also, now that it's a fresh new week, what would you like to have happen this week? Can you make it happen? Rehearse it in your mind's eye, so all you have to do is replay the "film" to make it reality.

Hi Ian - you're wonderful to me as usual -- how's the online thing going for your groups?

I have!!! ;)

No big deal.

Just turn on the tap at home and put your face real close. Same concept. And besides, at Niagara you can't see the "backside of water"!! :cool2:
.
One of the tours does go behind part of the Falls--at least it used to. "Cave of the Winds" perhaps?
.

They seem to like it, though there isn't as much participation as I'd like. But members have mentioned liking being connected via Facebook.

? for you Techie people....

where is a good place to buy a new battery for my laptop? (I have a Toshiba).

TIA!

I have a Toshiba laptop as well. However, I have never needed to buy a new battery for it. So I'm not going to be much help (actually none).

Geez, he looks M E A N

And here I thought he looked confused... :confused3

Have I ever said anything to the contrary?

(It's when I'm polite that you have to start worrying.)

A. What is photoshopping? I'm intrigued.

B. How did the basement flood?

A) Photoshopping = making pictures using Adobe Photoshop. It is a term that has been morphed into regular lingo for any type of photo manipulation work. "that pic has been sooo photoshopped!" The work I've done on pics and graphics is considered "photoshopping".

B) Still to be determined. But it seems like it is ground water coming up from oversaturation of the snow melting. It is fairly common when you have a quick melt and you have an underground basement. We had some flooding a couple of years back because I had a hose break that was left running. Thankfully I caught it before too much damage was done. Several years ago in a different house and before we had kids, we had our crawl space under the house flood and we lost almost all of our Christmas decorations (since then all Christmas decorations have been put into rubbermaid containers).

Here's a random question for everyone ...

Anyone know what the significance of this statue is?

A. I took photoshopping as in Photo Shopping, as in buying a new device or piece of software.

I've never heard of the software being used as verb ... I have come to the conclusion that I don't like it, so please desist from using it.

B. Our basement floods, but it from the sewers not being able to handle the water when there is a torrential rain. This reminds me that we need to start thinking about going into warm weather mode, which means getting things up off the floor, tacking up electrical cords on the wall, and putting things in water proof containers.
