Oh poor Tyler....this is going to be such a hard adjustment for him and they are the ones that don't help him. He'll be on his own.

You are great for wanting to try to help by preparing him even though it's not your responsibility. The poor guy needs to know what to expect and how to deal with difficult times. I pray that he doesn't inadvertently hurt the baby because of the adults' ignorance to his issues. No child should ever have to live with that kind of guilt that Tyler would surely feel. And it won't be his fault. Oh Holly. You have done your best and tried everything to get them to see. They will learn the hard way I'm sure. You really do have to try to help Tyler as much as you can. How hard is that going to be when you won't even be with him when he's around the baby.:confused3 :confused3

I could be over-worrying because after all, it's only 3 nights he's there. I just have a gut feeling though. I think I'm just going to have to bring it up at Tyler's next appointment. After all, the doctor needs to know about things going on in Tyler's life that he might have trouble with.

Oh, speaking of babies, as we were leaving Tyler's dad's, Sheilah (stepmom) leaned out the front door and hollered to Tyler "Don't forget to tell your mom what you're getting!" He had no idea what she was talking about, so she told me they just found out the other day that the baby is a girl. I told her I'd wondered if everything was OK with the baby because I never hear them mention a word, and neither does Tyler. In fact, he hasn't mentioned the baby at all since he told me in November, even when I try to bring it up. Anyway, she told me everything's fine and she's just now 20 weeks. When we were on the way home, I asked Tyler, "Isn't that exciting?" He again had no idea what I was talking about, so I said, "The baby being a girl, now you can have a little sister just like your friend Hunter." He said "I guess" and asked he how much longer until he's a teenager. :confused3 Most kids are excited when a new sibling is coming, so it's a bit strange.

It could be any number of things....he may have wanted a baby brother and not a sister.....he may not have anything to do with baby coming because they don't share with him.....it may not be real to him yet.

I wonder why he asked how long until he becomes a teenager. Maybe he asked his dad for something and got told he was to wait until then???

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I love late winter, early spring.....the first time the mild weather hits and the sun shines. It makes you itchy to have some summer fun. And I always hear the song, "Here Comes The Sun" by the Beatles playing in my head around this time of year. I have noticed that it's still light out when John gets home from work now. That's a great feeling.

I'm just a person that needs seasons. That's why I can't live in FL or anyplace tropical. I love to visit but I don't want to live there. I need the seasonal changes to occur.

I love all the seasons too...I just wish winter was the shortest...it always seems to be the longest

Could be. Perhaps a cell phone. Tyler told me one time that his dad told him he's going to give him a cell phone when he turns 10. I immediately told Tyler that he won't be allowed to bring it here because there's no reason for a kid to have a phone. Whenever he's with me, he can use our phone, and if he's not with me, he's at school where he couldn't use it anyway. I told him he can have one when he's old enough to sign up himself and have the bill be in his name and he pays the bill. :thumbsup2

I couldn't agree more on both accounts.....I know that your instincts are right and precautions need to be taken. If they ignore Tyler's needs, their baby could very well get hurt. You must bring it up to the doctor if they won't. You need to watch out for Tyler and this will definitely affect him.

So many are gone this weekend. The group at DL, Nan off scrapping (but at least she can pop in sometimes), and Marilyn.

Deb, where are you today? Doing your 6 hours lying down?

Deborah, I don't think you told us about how things went when you had some friends over (a girls night?). Pictures to share?

Michelle, are you sleeping?

I only took two photos, will upload it ...

Holly, I'm sure it doesn't seem real to Tyler yet, especially if his dad and stepmom don't talk and include him in all of the planning:sad2: And I think Deb is right, someone has probably made reference to something Tyler can do once he is a teenager :confused3

Oh one more

Holly

Here they are - I've been meaning to play too.

Just did my 2 for the day and didn't win on either try.

Thanks Holly... :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday ...

Bubba... anyone you know???

We've been running a few errands. It seems like today has been consumed with setting up our iPhones.

I'm almost done.

I did learn how to make custom ringtones out of iTunes.

Sukie's current ringtone is from the Ramones. Mine is Bibbity-Bobbity-Boo.

Does our ringtones tell you something?

Though I think I might be making a Glenn Miller ringtone for myself.

I have "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes..." I used to have the classic of "When you Wish Upon A Star" with Jiminy Cricket, but I couldn't hear it very well...

Ohhhhhh... Moonlight Serenade, Little Brown Jug??? String of Pearls??? I know... In the Mood!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

One more thing ---- I can now use my cell phone (the iPhone) in the house. With my previous Samsung phone I had to go stand on the front porch to use it.

Along with putting foil on your head and sticking your right foot out... :rotfl:

Good answer Mom....he may have heard a different one from dad and I know that all the kids have them today and I totally don't agree with it. The kids need to learn responsibility before they gain privileges. They need to pay their own bills too.

Hi Michelle:hug:

Deborah, how exciting that Olivia gets to be a flower girl! She'll feel so special doing it. I was about her age, maybe a bit younger, when I was flower girl in my aunt's wedding and it was such a magical day! :goodvibes I have some horrible pictures of it. It was after my mom had made me get all my long hair cut off and had her friend give me a curly perm, I looked like a poodle.

I have a couple of pictures like that too....it's so funny. John and I are going to try to scan some and post tomorrow.
