I think the elevation where I was is 7000 feet, but am not 100% sure. I do know the first few days I was dizzy and throwing up and was told that's elevation sickness that happens while the body adjusts. :confused3

I've had so many doctors check me for so many things regarding the migraines, I'm not sure anymore what's been looked at. BUT.....it's OK because I'll soon be with a specialist at the migraine clinic. My first appointment there is July 8 at their neurology clinic, and they told me to expect to be there for at least 3 hours, so I'm assuming they'll be doing some in-depth checking on all sorts of stuff. :thumbsup2 :yay:

OH that is very good, they will look at your sinuses just in case. It's awful not to feel good.

Been to a barbecue in the rain!!! Now would you do that V?

It was in the Vicar's garden and they had a small marquee up which leaked!!! Fortunately it wasn't too cold but it was a tyupical English summer evening!:rotfl2:

We enjoyed it though and it reminded us of our camping days.:lmao:

We got an offer on the house yesterday that we accepted ::yes:: with just a couple of minor changes in our counter offer that do not involve money, so they likely will accept it. WOO HOO!!! Now the troubles....we would have to be out of the house in 3 1/2 weeks and one of those weeks we are traveling to MT and ID. Oh my!! Time to get those closets cleaned out and packed up I think! So, that means I can retire in 5 weeks and 2 days!!! :hyper: :woohoo:

Yeah... and all that too!!!!!

Lisa,

She is the wife of my close work colleague and is a violin teacher in a non-profit school that develops the musical gifts of inner city children. Her name is Shalisa Kline-Ugaz.

She is incredibly dedicated to the kids.

This past year, one of her students had problems because their family was poor and there were basic problems with their housing. Shalisa, somehow, got Extreme Home Makeover to do a super make over on her student’s family’s home.

Shalisa has gain reputation for such dedication to these kids, that a local television station recently did a news piece on her:

http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/someone_you_should_know&id=6159845

Shalisa, unknown to her, was nominated by her boss (the head of the school) for the Energizer Hall of Fame.

She had been chosen as a semi-finalist. The winner is determined, by Internet vote.

Please vote for Shalisa, I think she is a great person and a great inspiration and deserves recognition. You can vote once per day. Also please pass this on to other people.

Here is the link to vote:

Voted yesterday and today... how long do we have to go for voting???

Thanks for reposting the story behind her... it's good to see good being done. :)

Yes, everyone needs to get those driveways and empty lots cleared out just a bit! :moped: :cool1:

Keep your fingers crossed... I may have the house built next summer!!!

Did you guys see this photo? It's the Magic sailing away in PV. The family had to get off the ship as someone in their party became ill (grandparent maybe), so the guy took a picture of his kids watching the ship sail off without them! Can you imagine? I love this photo!

I would have been laying down on the sand crying my eyes out... :worried:

Oh... PJ... don't we get enough ice up here in the winter???

Oh... I thought you guys used Groovy or something... :duck:

Mich,

We didn't get winter/snow until Feb this year and it was twice a week every week, but not the same as being in the huge land of Alaska. kind of like sailing the Pan Can, know what I mean::yes::

I ended up leaving work today shortly after lunch and came home to sleep for about 3 hours until somebody's lawnmower woke me up. I've been getting some things done around here, just ate supper, and am about to take more meds and head back to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be painfree.

Oh.....all 5 butterflies hatched sometime today! :thumbsup2 The instructions say as long as I feed them as instructed, I should be able to keep them a few days before releasing them, so I'm assuming they'll survive until Tyler comes home on Saturday. He can enjoy watching them that day and we'll release them Sunday morning. Strange thing is that only one has orange color. The others have white where the orange is supposed to be. Oh well, it was still fun!

Not entirely sure about this. I was born and bred in Brooklyn, Brighton Beach, right next to Coney Island. My family goes way back in Coney Island.

Not so sure that a Coney Island atmosphere is a good thing.

Sort of like saying they've recreated the enticing atmosphere of a garbage dump or a crack house on the ship.

I'm sure that's something that's never been tried on a ship before either.

Way too busy for me. I want to go and relax... I had 2 weeks on the Magic and still didn't do everything I want to do. I guess if you like that sort of thing...it would be good for my nieces who have to be entertained all the time.

I plan on having him practice with something. He doesn't eat rice, but it could just be something as simple as me breaking off a tiny bit of anything he's eating and asking him to practice swallowing it with a drink of milk or water. After all, he probably swallows chunks of unchewed food much larger than a little pill. ;) He'll be fine after the first time.... no worries.

Holly... my mom always used applesauce to help us get pills down.

(or a spoonfull of sugar... I hear is very popular!!!! :rotfl2: )

Where is everyone? This must be a record ::yes::
It makes me sad that not very many people are here today. :worried: I hope there's more conversation tomorrow because 7 out of 8 attorneys at work will be out of the office and he's leaving early! :yay: Our office manager already told me to bring a book or something to do! :woohoo:

I'm here!!!:yay: :yay: :dance3: :wave2:

I've been busy planning a diving trip for August. I'm going to the FL Keys (Key Largo) to dive for 4 days and then down to Key West for a couple of days. I have a friend in Indianapolis that I dive with so we're going together. It's a risk to plan a trip to FL in August, I know, but we just decided to throw caution to the winds and go for it!

The monsoon looks like it's getting a little closer each day. Today I could see some really big thunder heads off in the east and it's been cloudier each day for the past few days. Not sure when the rain will start, but at least the clouds block the sun and it seems a little cooler. :cool1:

I have some posts saved up on my laptop that I wanted to reply to. I guess I'll switch computers and answer those. See you shortly!:moped:
