Harvey is beside Jackie and I, Martha is by his side.

Breakfast picture Martha beside Connie and DH, Harvey beside me.

Yes, Wimbledon is on. I don't particularly watch it, but I like it on as the sounds are the sounds of summer!! Same with cricket actually, though that doesn't seem to be on as much these day.

Morning Thieves! Well, I had a few quotes so I could add some names to the photo, but they were all covered in subsequent posts. I'm going to pull out my copy of the photo so I can see some folks better and maybe help out more.

Well, today should be interesting, all the managers, salespeople, and the local assistants will be in training for the next two and a half days. So my team mate and I will have the department to ourselves. The training is on site, so they'll be around for emergencies. But it sure will be quiet most of the day.

Good morning Marilyn. I'm glad you remembered me. Not much going on here in Georgia right now. We went to visit family about 2 weeks ago. And then we were dog sitting for my oldest daughter while they went to Daytona. I enjoy reading everyones posts. The cruise lives on. ::yes::

Goodmorning Martha! You guys were some of the people I was going to name (label?), but Marilyn beat me to it!

I loved running into you two all around the ship and especially enjoyed spending PC morning with you.

.

Speaking of Wimbledon.....no rain-outs OK? All events remain ON SCHEDULE. Just hoping to make my life a little easier......

Good morning, Martha. Life is just living here also. We do have a trip to Montana :moped: coming up but that is still over a week away.

Hey Martha, I was wondering where you were. I thought you must just have decided the cruise was over so no more posting. Glad to see you.

I miss folk who don't post any more.

Martha was always up early - I bumped into her a few times early morning, and I think she had been out and about for a while by then.

Looking good so far, but don't hold your breath!!!

Someone said a few years ago.

'Wimbledon is a great competition. It's a shame they don't hold it in summer':lmao:

Hey Bubba......how's your summer going? Hugs to V for me. Ya know, next month is one year for my mom and it'll be two days later for V's. Can you believe it went so fast? Shocker!

When are you guys doing your Carnival cruise? Where are you travelling? That will be great. Do you have another cruise booked on DCL? Have you thought about Tortola? It would sure be great to have a do over and really make time to hang out together this time. We just didn't see you guys enough.

Hi Deb, Not Bubba, but I think it's ok for me to answer :lmao:
Thanks for the hugs. I can always use them, even if they are virtual. I can't believe that it has almost been a year. I am kind of dreading the arrival of August. Not a good month for me for sure.

But our next cruise is Aug 17th. And we will be getting together with friends at the beginning of the month. So I will have some destractions, which I hope will help get me through.
Our Aug cruise is a 7 day mexican on the Carnival Pride. The Pride was the ship that was docked next to us when we were in PV.
We do have a dummy date booked for Dec 09 with the plan to move it when the 2010 schedule is announce. Tortola would be fun, but I need longer to save up.:lmao:

Thanks for the daily reminder Ian, I need it and having the link there makes it so easy.

And thanks to you and everyone for the recommendation of the WII. I love mine. So far I've only been doing the boxing and the bowling, but it is so fun.

Today I got a DVC Mexican Riviera pin in the mail. The Card said:

We're thrilled that you joined us on our unforgettable journey to the Mexican Riviera, blah blah blah. We're thanking our Members by giving you this limited release pin so exclusive only one is provided per family.....

I guess all DVC members who take the Mexican Riviera cruise will get one.

As for me, I went back to the doctor for a recheck on my medications, my happy pill for the morning and my sleepy pill for night. She is doubling my happy pill, apparently I am not happy enough. And she is changing my sleeping pill to something less addictive. Which is a good thing.

Things at home are the same as most other people with a tween and a teen living in them. Only magnified because of the grief. My daughter has been expressing her grief more than before which is a good thing. My son has been too but I think it is much much harder on him. Yesterday he told me that it was only in the last six months or so before his Dad died that he finally realized how much his Dad loved him. Which of course made me cry and cry.
Tammy:      to you and both kids. But it's good that your kids are starting to show their grief. Your son will come around, he just has to find his own way to get through this. It's really a good thing they were blessed with you for a mom because you're doing such a great job helping them through this. I can't even imagine how traumatic this is for you, and most people would have just completely shut down (which would be even worse for the kids), but you have keep yourself going for their sake. It seems like you're going through the grieving process right along with them. Prayers and hugs to you, still, every day. You're in my thoughts often.

I am in Destin, FL and doing much better. My step-dad is a dr. and put some foam on it and its gone down but still a little sore.

My dad over-dosed. He has done this before. My cousin is keeping me up to date. They will take him off his ventilator in 2 days and see what happens. My dad and I arn't close at all, he is more like an uncle. My mom is furious with him now. My step-dad has rasied me for the past 20 years (I am 24) and before that my mom was all I had.
Jill, I'm so glad you have your stepdad to step in as dad for you.

Lisa....   Good luck today. It is going to be hard, but you guys have had such a wonderful time! You could always think back to that first trip to WDW and it might not be so hard.:goodvibes

Tammy.....  really don't know the right words to say....cherish the memories you have and hugs your kids often!

DVC...we haven't gotten anything...what DVD? The only thing I get from them is junk asking me to get friends to join! :lmao: They did send me a postcard a while ago telling me that I would be getting a special pin since I extended my OKW contract, but haven't seen that either! :(

Jill....sorry to hear about your dad and your jelly fish experience. Hope your day at the water park is great today!

Yes, later this summer when we revamp the whole website. That would be a great thing for you Holly, it would help Tyler focus and realize his accomplishments. I'll get you some more info this summer. And it sounds like Kaylee has some good advice too. We are really trying to focus on what we learn from other parents about what works and does not work with prevention.
Wonderful! Yes, Tyler needs to feel good about accomplishments, since he has so many issues. Getting in trouble every single day sure doesn't make him feel good. I'll be looking forward to checking out your website again this summer.

And Kaylee, any tips about your goals board would be great too! :goodvibes

Thanks!

While I'm on the subject of telephones, a thought occurred to me today.

I was in the train station and I thought some guy was talking to himself, I couldn't see his bluetooth headset.

The thought occurred to me ... how do you really know there's someone on the other end?

I mean, it used to be that people who talked to themselves and heard voices were considered crazy (or holy people, take your pick).

How do we know that the really weren't hearing someone ... I mean just because we couldn't hear it ourselves?

We can't hear the other end of the conversation when people are using their headsets and cell phones either.

I also got to thinking that perhaps one way to deal with people who wander around the streets talking to themselves is to give them each a bluetooth headset. A cell phone isn't needed, just a headset.

That way, when they are wandering around talking to themselves, so long as they have the headset on, no one would think twice about it. People would just assume they were on the phone.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Our local free newspaper THE URBAN TIMES which covers several downtown neighborhoods in Indianapolis is written by a fellow who has his own editorial on the last page. One time he was writing about people he observes and said that one person was walking down the sidewalk talking to herself but she looked too well dressed to be a refugee from the County mental hospital. When she got close he realized she had a headset on as a wire was running from her ear to her hand where the phone was.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

That was me! I am sure. I had a friend I would chat with on the way to meet Tom after work and I often passed a restaurant where this fellow liked to eat and drink at the sidewalk cafe tables!

I told her we were famous as we had been in the paper. We thought it was funny.

I saw him at "his" table a few weeks later and went over to introduce myself and remind him of the editorial. He got so embarrassed! That was even funnier.:lmao:
