Some other guy wrote this:

The hotel itself is a bit Disney-esque with an exotic entry and odd exterior.

That doesn't sound bad for this bunch.

I hope this isn't annoying to anyone but someone else said this:

We rented a car but would not do so again. Taxis and shuttles seemed to be OK and we walked to San Jose a lot.The hotel is a ways from Cabo and we went there one day but drove through and left. San Jose Del Cabo is much nicer. We did drive to several really nice little beaches.

Have you found a bad review yet? Tripadvisor is known for having bad reviews on resorts.

I have never seen so many good ones. The only bad ones were during the strike. The hotel wouldn't let their guests back in after going to town. It sounds more like the police were bad not the hotel. Most say that they don't heat the pool and the meals are expensive but it sounds like you can walk to the grocery and other restaurants.

gydell, who is going on this trip with you? just you & bill?

Everyone complains about the timeshare "wolves" but we experienced that in Cabo just walking around town.

I found it, it doesn't seem to have the same luxury as the one at NV...

Cabos is the newest one so it should be better but it doesn't have the wave pools and slide yet that NV has. The pool in Cabos is like the one in Cancun which I like better than NV. The food probably is expensive for some but we don't find it too bad. Buffet dinner(usually has a show) is $18-$27 depending on whiich night. Sit down ones are about the same as in the states. My dh and I don't drink except at Happy Hour(most of the resorts have 2-3) and our bill has never been over $400 for a week. Our friends buy some of their liquor at the store. We always eat breakfast in the room, and lunch and dinner at the resort.

That sounds reasonable. A few people said not to miss the buffet.

I guess the pool was what my focus was on for the kiddos.

I'll be anxious to hear what you think when you get home.

Do you use redweek often? any tips on it?

10 people total the first week and just Betsy, Brent and me the second. Wanta come?

Just don't do the tour of the property and you're fine. They offer breakfast buffet to all in the party and a discount off all purchases(food, spa, sovies) of 10 or 20%. We skip it.

Okay - there we go - Cabo at some point! :lmao: :lmao: Now I have a semi-defined goal!

We can even make a date if that will make you feel better :lmao: It might get Ken and Venetia off my back about Alaska.
