Hi Gang, I did a search and could not find an answer...posted this question a while back in the WBC thread and got no answers. So here it is


We have a late flight, will not need to leave for the airport until 5pm.

Can we check out late at WBC, is that even an option?

Can we stay at the pool once we check out?

Can we rent a cabana that day, since that would make this a comfortable pool day for us?

think you can check out late for a price.

WDW is the only resort that I know - that allows you to kept using their stuff after you check out.

Late check out can be *requested* the Day Before checkout (24 Hours ish)

Info ... I was given this year (May 2013) ... by WBC Front Desk

IIRC ... late check out amounts to 1 hour (approx) ... YMMV

As bob mentioned, You can "Request" a late checkout, but it is not guaranteed to be granted as it's based primarily off their need to turn over the rooms and if there is "availability" for the late checkout request. (obviously, everyone can't request a late checkout if they need to turn over the majority of the resort that day).

The "late checkout" is only about an extra hour or 2.


Once you checkout, You can store your stuff with the bell service desk if you want to stick around the resort.... or want to go do something else away from the resort before you have to make your trip to the airport.

Just like with the people who ask if you can use the pools while waiting to check in, I don't believe there would be any issue with using the pools after checking out and waiting for your airport trip. I believe that there may be showers and a place to change in the public bathrooms near the pool at the main building which can be used for a post swim/pre-flight cleanup/change.


I'm not sure if you could rent a cabana or not for that day. In theory I don't see why you couldn't, but I could potentially see an issue with it depending upon how they handle the charges and reservations for the cabanas. (If they link to your room, and the account has been closed, it could be a problem). I'd say your best bet would be to call the resort and inquire about this.


....In general, I'd also be willing to say that the Activities Desk at the resort may be able to answer some of the specifics about day of checkout pool and amenity usage. They have various things planned thruout the day, every day, at the resort, so the people at the Activities desk may be able to answer your questions, and may not be as busy/rushed as the front desk people.

I just returned from WBC last week and the day I checked out I asked about use of the amneities and was told that I could use pool etc until midnight.

I am considering just adding a day to my ressie, so we can have our room all day. Why not a cabana will cost 50., we could just check out early.
