Is there any items you can take down with you to save money? Id love to see/hear what you provided to save money!
Example, can you bring rose petals for your aisle and cake table and have someone in your party put them out?
Aisle runners?
Your own bouquet?

What can you do or what have you done to decrease the cost of your wedding?

I know I read somewhere someone had gift cards for subway to help with the welcome party!
Come on we all dont have millions but we all want the experience!:rotfl:

Here are some ways that I saved money:

- For our welcome party- we had desserts, coffee and wine in our hotel room. (we had a 2 bedroom at OKW- so there was room to move around)

-I used my bouquet and my bridesmaids' bouquets as centerpieces

-We provided our our own glass containers and glass beads to put the bouquets in it.

-We brought an ipod player and played it during the reception

-Waited for a sale for my dress- bought my veil online

-I thought that the boardwalk convention center was a really cheap option as far as receptions go. (To further save money, we didnt pay for dessert- bc we were having wedding cake- so that saved us more that $4 per person)

-We let Disney print our menu cards

-For invitations, thank you cards and programs- we used Vistaprint and lots of coupons. (our programs were actually invitations- I just kept the envelopes)

-Used Randy Chapman's DVD only package for pictures (which was actually cheaper than printing all of the pictures I wanted at Disney prices)

- (If I had known about this before, I would have probably bought an artificial bouquet- so you can save it forever without the cost of preservation)

Hope some of these help you save some money!

(Off topic-One of my best friends is from Fleetwood PA,we used to teach in Reading together!)

disney lets you pretty much bring in whatever you want as long as you have someone that is willing to set it up for you. this could include flowers, decorations, favors, isle runners, ect.

Our biggest save was with using an ipod. I downloaded so much jazz music in order to get a good list for the DJ, that I figured I should just play it myself and save the money! I'm also bringing some table decor and avoided large amounts of flowers. Outside of Disney, I'm making my own gowns, the grooms suit, and the bridesmaids are making their gowns as well. And we're making them muffs which will have a small spray of orchids pinned to the front of them rather than a whole bouquet. We also splurged on the cake design so it needs no extra decor!

I actually had a wedding planner suggest this because our reception is pretty much just dinner and cake. After seeing others suggest it, I'm definitely doing this, too!

I've also seen suggestions of outside vendors for photography and videography to save money, and it seems to be a pretty good deal.

My wedding was a Do-It-Yourself Wedding! Savings were a big thing for me so here are things that I did to cut costs.

- Did not have the ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion. Any other location saves you $1000.

- Hired an outside photographer....the pics are great!

- Used flowers in my hair instead of a tiara....I did not like tiaras and was not happy with the headpieces out there...so I used a few flowers!

- Silk flowers....they are beautiful and relatively inexpensive!

- Don't overdo the menu....our menu was a buffet...it kept the $$$ down, but everyone had more than enough to eat!

- Do your own invites, menu cards, programs, favors, etc.

- Make your own centerpieces, or if you can't, keep them simple!

If you need pics or links to places I used, please feel free to PM me!

i have never been a bride only bridesmaid and remembered what my BFF and i did before to save a bit for the wedding. we did the centerpiece for the table set-ups and the decorations and draperies in the reception. we also did the wedding invitation ourselves 3 months before the wedding and it took as almost a month to finish it. it was quite exhausting but we have been so proud with the outcome. my bff was very happy seeing her personal touch in her own wedding. :dance3:
