ways to get to chicago

My sister is Graduatng HS in June.That same day my daughter is testing for her next belt in Taikwando. We have one car. My problem is I need to get to Chicago from Indianapolis by 7pm. I can not leave till 3pm I already looked up Amtrak and Greyhound and they don't have a schedule that works for me. Besides airlines what other means of transportation is there??? I don't have a credit card so i can't rent a car.

yes but i guess i should have added my daughters test isn't until 6pm that day.

If you can drive, as said, it is about a 3 hour drive, but could be longer with construction. I have driven it often, maybe 4 hours at the most.

my husband needs the car to take my daughter to taekwondo. My sisters gradution is not important to him soI need to find my own way to Chicago I have a daycare so i cannot leave till 3 and greyhounds bus leaves at 11am.

I realise how long a drive it is I do it every weekend. I was just wondering if there was another way besides greyhound and Amtrak.

Only other I would think of is to fly.

Can a friend, or someone else who's testing take your DD to her tae kwon do test? Or can your husband rent the car for the local area and you take your car?

What about him taking a taxi to the tae kwon do test?

Sounds like he would have many more options than you do.

BTW, I earned my Tae Kwon Do 1st degree black belt in Castleton at the KTA. Just wondered if your DD was at the same school?

I also would ask your husband if he can do something else to get a ride around your area so you can use the car to go to the graduation. If it's that important to you, you'd hope your husband would help to find other ways to make it work. But it's not sounding that way. And flying would mean probably about the same timing as using Greyhound by the time you have to get to the airport now and then getting from the airport in Chicago to your destination. You'd be cutting very close by flying if you can't leave until 3.

yes my daughter goes to the same place. She started 3 weeks ago.
We just started this place and don't know anyone to take him besides the car is manual stick and I am too scared to learn to drive. We have no credit cards so we can't rent a car. I guess I am just SOL. I am going to ask the kids parents to keep there kids home that day I guess.

Getting a credit card!! Even if it is just one that you tuck away for situations like this. You don't have to carry a balance. If you ever really _have_ to rent a car, you might regret not having one.

I never had to actually prove my income to get a card. Just had to put down how much I make a year on the application.

yeah but most of themask for your SS and thats how they find out if you have a job or not
