Hi - I just discovered this board - hope it's appropriate to ask here. I'm looking for ways to earn some extra money for our upcoming trip. I'm a stay at home mom, and am looking for legitimate ideas - I've heard people talk about research surveys. I don't know much about the internet other than this site, and tend to be nervous about alot of seemingly easy ways to get money. Can anyone help? The whole e-bay thing is appealing, but I haven't a clue as to where to start. I have tons of old books, but I don't even know if I'd get money for them.

Please help!:p

Hello :)

as far as EBAY is concerned there is a thread on the budget board, I believe the Diser's that post on that thread can help you out and there should be alot of helpful info in it.
Alot of us do rewards programs and surveys, this is the right board to get you started with those.
Good Luck :)

Hi MomofMikey! Welcome to the Rewards Board!
The best place to start is on This Thread which has all the How To's and all the Survery Sites you can sign up for! :)

Dolphincrazy is right though, the really good place to start on making extra money is Ebay! You can find a really good thread about Ebay on the Budget Board or you can just go directly to the Ebay Thread! :)

Hope that helps some!! :)

I can understand how ebay is hard to start. I am nervous myself. As far as books I would consider listing them on Half.com to start off with. I have had success saving money for my trips by using the site to sell books and videos and DVD's that we didnt need. I think that it is a good place to start.

You dont have to do a whole lot. Just find books that you dont need anymore and look up their ISBN numbers usually on the back and then click on the button "Sell yours Now" You decide on the price based on the condition and what others are selling it for. Then when someone is interested Half.com will send a notice that you have made a sale.

Hope it helps.:happy2:

Hi,

half, ebay and amazon are great. I've sold over 100 books on half, if you are going to list books on half, do it fast, as ebay will soon close down half. I've started listing on amazon, but my books don't seem to sell as fast on amazon as on half, plus amazon take more of a commission when a book sells (costs nothing to list on half or amazon). I've slowly started listing items on ebay. It is going well, but it is more work than half or amazon.

Check out the ING Facts at the top of this board. If you have a lot of friends and family this can really help out.

I have an ING account as most of us do and this is a great way to save money for Disney, I usually deposit checks in there for taking surveys or whatever way I get extra money plus, I sock a little away weekly or biweekly. If you decide your interested in opening an account , you can contact one of us and if we have a referral , we will get it out to you ASAP. $25 bonus to sign up through a referral.

I have to agree with Maryann on the ING account. depending on how far away your trip is you can certainly save some money towards the trip. It is a great way especially if you can refer people. That is what I am doing for a big trip next April. Hopefully I will have money to be able to stay as a single mom at the AKL. I will do other things such as a yard sale, and maybe making some crafts on the side like for xmas and selling them at a local craft fair. Whatever extra I do to make money I will put in the account to earn interest. Also I will just ask for birthday and xmas gifts as deposits in there also. I really don't NEED anything else but my trip to Disney!!
