Way to work around thermostat issue at AoA?

oh no!! I was going to book this resort today for my August trip! Now I don't know what to do. Did anyone stay at the resort last summer? Was it miserable? We have never been to Florida in August, we live on the West Coast but from what I hear A/C will be a MUST!!

I think you should do a search. When the resort first open there was a lot of complaining about the room temperature, that they were way too warm, and there was no way to override the air conditioning. People were even talking about trying to have fans in the room.

Oh, that makes me remember, they don't have ceiling fans in the rooms at AoA either. So I can see how once the air shuts off the rooms could get very stuffy.

We stayed at AoA LM last November and had no problems at all. The temps fluctuated a lot during that week, often with cold nights and the room stayed comfortable the entire time. It was warm during the day but when we came back to the room it was comfortable. Maybe they changed something after the opening but it was fine for us. We'll be heading back in August so I hope it works the same then.

What about a balloon with one of those little hand warmers tied on? I wonder if that would do it?

ETA: read somewhere that mylar reflects infrared - maybe a mylar balloon would work when a regular won't?

If the nights were cold, I would expect the room to stay comfortable.

We never stayed at AoA, but we do stay at Pop often. Some people say that Pop has the same issue with their thermostats. I have never experienced the lack of air conditioning or heat at Pop. We have always - even in July - had sufficient cooling.

I would think that if there is a big issue, we should have experienced it at least once out of a dozen or more times. No issues have been experienced. Hopefully, you won't have any issues either. :goodvibes

I didn't have an issue at Pop during our last stay.

AoA is built different, with different thermostats than the other resorts, which is what is leading to problems for some people.

I am wondering if I should change my reservation now. I HATE being hot, and my husband is even worse. My mom and dad are also staying there and they would freak out!!

I would have changed weeks ago, but I'm traveling with a group and they are insisting we stay at AoA. :headache:

Some friends stayed there, they bought a balloon and tied it near the sensor worked like a charm.

We stayed in a Cars Suite for one night last August. It was miserably hot all night. I was so glad that we were only there for one night. Cute hotel, horribly uncomfortable all around. Once and done for us.

We stayed in a little mermaid room in September and I don't remember it being hot at night.
