Way to present sports tickets??

I actually asked this question two years ago on the Dis! DBF's birthday is the day after Christmas and I have bought him NY Rangers tix! I know he'll be totally surprised and since going to the game two years ago (also for his birthday), he's constantly talked about wanting to go again. He is 100% NOT expecting the tickets.
Last time, I did the nested boxes ideas, with little clues in each box until he got to the bottom. He loved this and I'd like to present the tickets creatively again (without repeating my idea from before). Of course, I'm stumped as how to present them. Any ideas?? TIA!!

How about a treasure hunt around the house with the first clue in the box that you wrap and present to him? As he unwraps the first one, it sends him to the second box hidden somewhere, which will send him to the third one hidden somewhere else, and so on.

When he gets to the final package, you could include a team shirt or hat with the tickets hidden underneath.

Last year I gave my Unbelievably-hard-to-buy-for DSis and DBil a 6 months Netflix gift certificate. I put a series of envelopes in a box and numbered them. The first one had a picture of a house buried in snow, kinda like the long awful winters we have here. The second had a very bored looking couple sitting on the couch. The third had a picture of the idea lightbulb.

You could do a series of these to correspond to the theme and see if he can guess what he is getting. Have fun!

My first thought, since they are hockey tickets, was to wrap them in a ziploc bag, put them in a box and then freeze them in a big block of ice. It would be kind of fun to watch him try to figure out how to get them out.

As long as he doesn't try sitting the block of ice next to the fireplace, that might cause a big mess. But probably the fastest way to melt a block of ice... i guess you could boil it away too.

Here's a couple different ways...

Take a pretty big box and fill it with hellium balloons (but before putting them in the box, tie the tickets to the bottom of the strings) That way when he opens up the box, the balloons will float out and the tickets will be attached!!! Or you could place the tickets INSIDE one of the balloons and attach a note for him to pop the balloons to find his prize?

OR

Buy him a 2011 calendar of that team and with a big fat red magic marker, circle the date of the game and tape the tickets over that date?

OR

Get one of those money maze contraptions to stick the tickets inside. That way, he'd have to "work" for his gift. http://www.seriouspuzzles.com/money-maze-puzzle-i4669.asp there are many different versions of these, so you should find one that suits the size of the tickets

OR

Open a box of Cracker Jacks and put the tickets in there and re-seal it. That way, when he opens it.....he'll find his prize inside. LOL

Great idea! This is pretty much what I did two years ago with the nesting boxes-- box one had a picture of a penguin (they were playing the Pittsburgh Penguins), box two had one of those glow "ice cubes" from Disney, etc. Great idea, thanks, but I want this to be totally different so he'll be completely surprised, KWIM??

HAHA! This is actually hysterical-- do you think the tickets would get warped or anything?
