Wondering how you secure your items if both people want to go in the water in the same time, are there lockers? Wondering what to do with my room key/phone/and license? Also can you charge purchases at the castaway cay gifts shops or bar to your room card or do you need cash/credit?

Thanks so much

You can charge gift shop items to your room card. I don't drink so I can't speak about bars, but I would assume that would be the same.

There are no lockers, but honestly, theft is not a significant problem on Disney's private island. I wouldn't worry about leaving my bag on a lounger while swimming. If you go bike riding, there is a communal wooden box where people store their items as they ride. Honor system.

I'm a single mom so have had to sail without another adult most of the time. Lots of times I've left a bag on a lounger on Castaway or the pool deck as I swam or got food or used the restroom. I'm Platinum and have never had an incident.

That said, naturally leave all the valuables you can locked in your safe. Be prudent, but personally I wouldn't worry about occasionally leaving a bag unattended there.

Purchases of any kind are charged back to your cabin. It's the same as on the ship. No cash is used unless you are wanting to leave a tip for someone that you want to give cash to.
As for lockers, as said above, there are none. We use a KYSS bag. Purchased years ago and bought a second one two years ago. They work great for us, we can lock our items to something where ever we go. Not a lot of theft. I have read a few times where things have 'disappeared' but it is almost a unicorn when you do hear of something missing. Happens so selfdom but it does happen occasionally.

I don't even know if I took my phone to castaway cay 🤔 . I don't have any pictures of it, so I'm going to guess we only brought our room cards/IDs with us? And just left everything on the loungers when we were both in the water.

I've used the "SAFEGO portable locker" (link to Amazon) for all the cruises except Alaska. It holds my smaller iPhone, key cards, etc. I use it on deck and at the beach.

I would get a waterproof pouch for the phone and put phone, KTTW and ID in there and keep it on you all the time.

The ship is right there, so we just took our camera back to our stateroom when we were done with it. No need for a cell phone, so that wasn't an issue. KTTW card and License are both waterproof so went into a pocket of my swim suit.

Passports aren't waterproof, though. And some of us do need to keep our phones handy.

That said, I've never had anything taken after multiple trips to CC. I did once have my bag moved from one chair to another, though, when some rude couple stole one of our chairs.

Slightly off topic: I do recommend a water bottle (I bring reusable) if you are there in the summer as it can get warm...I also recommend some type of bag to carry towels in - towels are available as you leave the ship but no towels (that I know of) are in the public areas.

I also didn't have photos on my digital camera, I think we might have just not felt like bringing anything. Or we did bring a camera and didn't take pictures. We're guilty of that a lot.

Actually, we bought a disposable water proof camera. I forgot we had done that until I just looked at the photos.

I used a Safego last time and honestly, it didn't feel necessary. The one good thing about it was that I could lock our two chairs together so nobody could move one.
I will probably use it on our NCL cruise though.

We were just at CC on Thursday. We just left our stuff in a bag next to our chairs when we went in the water. Maybe we're too trusting but we also have younger kids so one of them was only playing in the shallows so we weren't ever far from the stuff.

I've brought a small bag in the past and used a lock (it was actually a stroller lock, but worked well) and looped it though the zippers and then around the lounge chair. I doubt anything would have gone missing, but for my own peace of mind it made me feel better.
