Way OT: Top 3 tearjerkers???

Steel Magnolias
Finding Neverland
Pay it Forward (although to disturbing to watch it more than once)
Terms of Endearment
Beaches

I have cried a little during different scenes of some of the previously mentioned movies; notably The Color Purple, Terms of Endearment (strangely, the only point I cry in that one is where Shirley Maclaine slaps the crap out of her grandson as they're leaving the hospital, saying, "Don't you EVER talk about your mother like that!" God, I'm crying now thinking of it!)

But, as far as sobbing uncontrollably I only have about three:

A River Runs Through It ("You knew more than that. You knew that he was beautiful." Waaaaaaaa!!!!

Big Fish (How many of us who have lost a larger than life father don't wish that we could have just carried him to the river and set him free in the end?)

And a tie between Life is Beautiful and Million Dollar Baby

Okay, gotta find some Kleenex now.

The Other Woman (with Jill Eikenberry)
Boys Don’t Cry
Titanic
The Story of Us (the end of this movie gets me every single time).

1. The Notebook*
2. Step-Mom/ The Fawn
3. Where the Red Fern Grows

*I read The Notebook one day while DH was at work. When he came home, there were tissues all over the bedroom and my face was bright red. DH thought something had happened to my grandfather and said, "Oh, baby, I am so sorry," and came to give me a hug. I finally sniffled, "I'm....Ok.....it's the book.....bawling...it's just so sad." It was hilarious!

Ok, I agree with My Dog Skip.

Some other movies that get me every time:

Rudy (I cried for over 2 hrs, my face was all puffy and blotchy red - I think it is the score that gets me in this movie, although the storyline is fantastic and it is based on a true story)

My Life (the one with Michael Keaton and I believe Nicole Kidman where he knows he is dying of cancer and makes all of these videos for kid that Nicole is pg with - this movie will make grown men cry, but I'm a woman so sshhh!)

Pharlap (this is another true story based on a race horse, those animal movies do it every time, plus the score is fantastic.)

1. Steel Magnolias
2. Armegeddon
3. Not a movie, but the most I ever cried was durning the series fianle of Six Feet Under. I woke my husband up I was crying so much!

There was a similar thread to this last summer and I couldn't believe it got to page three without anyone mentioning "Bridge of Madison County". And again, here we are near the end of page two and no mention again!! I cry just talking about that movie! I also cry at most of the movies previously mentioned (at least the ones I have seen!)...........P

My eyes are filling up just *thinking* about The Color Purple. On that same line, Beloved always gets me too. Steel Magnolias, Beaches, Sophie's Choice, The Green Mile, Dumbo... when she sings "Baby Mine"... I lose it! Then again, all the Disney movies get me at some point.

I have to post this one: "The Champ" with Ricky Schroeder...the last ten minutes are just the saddest ever in a movie. And great child acting.

Also the Fighting Sullivans and Saving Private Ryan
And for girl movies: Terms of Endearment and Steel Magnolias

What Dreams May Come-- (I think that is the name) It has Robin Williams in it. I never cried as hard as I did with this movie. Watch it, it is a must see.

Beaches
Stepmom

I cry watching commercials, so technically I cry at everything (even happy things) My kids always make sure we have kleenex when we go to the movies.

Kerri

Last Friday, I was watching TBS and Pay it Forward and Step Mom was on back to back. I was sobbing!!

To me the #1 that I cry hysterically in is Beaches. It's so sad. The Notebook is another one, and My Life. I also always sob in Armaggedon when Liv Tyler says bye to Bruce Willis.

Shakespeare in Love gets me every time, and I've seen it a LOT.
Immortal Beloved

Those are my top two. I cry easily at movies, though, so I could choose a lot more. Also, anything sad involving animals will get me every time! (I still can't watch the Fox and the Hound without bawling!)

My top 3:

Steel Magnolias
Beaches
Terms of Endearment

I also cry at commercials and even in the Hallmark Store reading cards, so I will cry at almost anything slightly moving or heartwarming. But those 3 have always stuck with me. Every time I am in the car and hear Bette Midlers "Wind Beneath My Wings", let the tears begin.

The Fighting Sullivans
Beaches
Steel Magnolias
Brokeback Mountain
Titanic
Ghost
City of Angels

Oh, my gosh, Terms of Endearment!!! When the little boy is saying goodbye to Debra Winger who is dying bravely in the hospital - I can't even see that scene anymore!!!

We were separated at birth, I swear! I was going to post this exact scene. When he's standing there, face all scrunched up and teary, after she tells them she's dying and she says, "That wasn't so bad, was it?" And, trying to be brave for mama, he shakes his head "no" through his tears. Then you hear my heart being torn from its chest.

And that is the SADDEST SCENE OF ALL TIME.

Ladder 49 (my dads a firefighter and i am very close with a lot of the guys in the dept)
Notebook
Stepmom (saw this about a waeek after my aunt died of cancer...mom had heard it was a happy type of movie)

Oh my gosh ladies.....
How could I forget
"Steel Magnolias" That is one of my very favorite movies!!!! Also "Ghost" kills me!!!!! Or what about 'My Girl"....."he needs his glasses, where are Thomas J's glasses he can't see without them......wahhhhhhhh :sad1:
How can I forget "The Green Mile" too that movie has me in tears the whole time.

I even cry at TV....how about "Little House on the Prairie" Man I would cry everytime i saw it!! I know every single episode too. I even cried when Michael Landon died from cancer.
Or how about "Extreme Makever Home Edition".......wahhhhhh!!!!! :sad1:

Although I agree w/many of the above posters, I didn't see CastAway anywhere. The first time I saw it.....you know.....WILSON!!!!!!!! that really got me.

Also, Legends of the Fall...when the youngest brother is killed in the war...I just boohoo through that part. And also towards the end of the movie when Susannah goes to the jail to see Tristan...and tells him in some strange way she wanted Isabel Two to die...and she pretends his children were also her children...
