I've looked EVERYWHERE for wax paper for these no bake drop cookies. All I can find is parchment paper.

I'm going to try it in place of wax paper, hope it works or we'll have 3 unhappy girls :) well 4 if you count me

I hope the parchment paper works. I think it will. I use it instead of wax paper. I'm making candy today and dropping it onto parchment paper and it is not sticking.

Today I saw parchment paper at Hobby Lobby that said it was coated with silicone. I bet that works really well.

Good luck! :sunny:

I don't usually buy wax paper, but I'm pretty sure it's still there at the supermarket with the aluminum foil, the saran wrap, and all that stuff. Maybe it's gone and I just haven't noticed :confused3

YOu can use tin foil/aluminum foil to put the nobake cookies on. It works for me!

Oh darnit, now I'm craving no bake cookies! You should be ashamed!

I sent DH out to fond some last week anf Super Wal-mart was out as well.

I had the opposite problem - I needed parchment paper and could only find wax paper. Hmmmm...

LOL wanna trade?

I looked at 2 grocery stores, walmart (which is a super) and a couple local "mom/pop" grocery stores....

None had it

Once they clean up the table from dinner, its onto the nobakes...YUM...lets hope some of these make it into the christmas tins!

:rotfl: That happened to me just a few days ago. Maybe we need a wax paper/parchment paper swap? :)

what's a no bake cookie?

oh golly!

cocoa powder, oatmeal, peanut butter, powdered sugar and butter.

oh yum yum yum! There's a few recipe variations on the cooking board....

I would bet that the release type aluminum foil would work in a pinch if you have any of that on hand.

I don't get it :confused3 SOrry, I lost my brain today. Does it taste like eating cookie dough without the egg?

Nope not at all, they harden, like a chocolate cookie with oatmeal. Thats about as good as I can describe it....

But for some reason, these dont seem to be hardening...hmmmm wonder what I messed up..

Icebrat, these are the chocolate, oatmeal, peanut butter drop cookies that are cooked on the stove top in a pot and not baked in the oven--therefore "no-bake". I think they may have another name, or they could be regional. I know these are a staple in my Southern region.

I bought waxed paper today! Had a triple coupon and it cost like a quarter.
