So Magic Candle Company is obviously a popular topic, but what about wax melts (other Disney inspired or not) in general? This has been a new hobby of mine for about six months now. It started with Disney inspired scents, but then I discovered some of the Facebook groups dedicated to the topic. This resulted in a greater variety of brands in my collection, as well as general growth of the collection. :D Thus far, I have only purchased online, but I am looking forward to when I will be two weeks past my second covid vaccine, when I will finally make my first in-person wax melt shopping trip.

What are your faves (scent/brand/vendor vs retail)?

Well, I wouldn't call it a hobby...I will pick up some melts every once in a while at the Yankee Candle outlet near me. I've ordered from Scentsy once as part of a fundraiser. Honestly, I don't really pay attention to to many brands. I have ordered once from Magic, but honestly they didn't suit me at all so I just say with Yankee.

I know so many people that sell Scentsy so I have their warmers and bars. My all time favorite scent is pine but I try and save those for the holidays. My new favorite scent I just got the other day is called By the Sea....the website description says its "the scent of ocean air wafting through dewy, seaside grass"....OMG it smells so good.

I have quite a few warmers but here are two of my favorites....
My Christmas one....so cute when it's lit up...looks like the lights are lit up even though they aren't.

I have a drawer full of wax melts. Mostly from Walmart or Kroger. Scentcy melts smell good but they are expensive and don't last nearly as long as others.

My DD(22) sells Scentsy, so I have multiple Scentsy products.
They have beautiful warmers and they have many wax scents to choose from. I have different scents for different times of the year. My warmers are on a timer so they go on and off everyday without me thinking about it. Writing this makes me remember I need to change out my wax tonight

I was very disappointed with the Magic Candle Company's wax melts. They were quite expensive and didn't last nearly as long as the cheaper ones I buy. I also didn't like the melts from Scentsy, same issue, didn't last.

I usually get mine from Meijer, the fusion brand, I think they sell for $2.99. They keep their scent for the entire day. I like the apple; cranberry; cinnamon; or pumpkin scents during the fall and winter. In the spring and summer I'll switch over to the lavender; sunflower; or citrus.

I friend of mine has started making and selling wax melts. They're actually really good and they keep their scent all day. Right now I'm burning the Hazelnut scent. I don't like the smell of coffee and I was afraid that's what it would be like, but it's actually a really nice scent. Company is called Opal & Willow Soy Candles if you're interested.

Apparently, there used to be a Yankee Candle within my metro area, but it's no more. I did find some of their melts through Kohl's and Walmart online.

Nice set-ups. I would imagine the Christmas one looks really cute when it's in use. I just have a couple of relatively plain warmers I purchased through Amazon (my "fanciest" one has an exterior that looks like a colored glass mosaic), but I know there's a lot of really fun designs out there.

It seems like Walmart is actually one of the best places to buy them, both for the brands and the price points. I've purchased Better Homes and Gardens, Scentsationals, and Yankee Candle through Walmart. I am a bit jealous that you have Kroeger because I seem to recall reading that they carry some melts that are made by Scentsationals under other names, like Fusion.

I've seen pictures of some of their warmers, and they do have a lot of nice looking designs. One of my warmers allows me to have it turn off after a set amount of time, but I didn't know that there were warmers out there that even turned themselves on!

I can understand being disappointed because I really wanted to like them as they have a nice variety of scents. I've tinkered a bit with other Disney-inspired candle company melts, but that's now a once in a while purchase due to the larger cost. I think it's also due to the fact that, as much as I like things like the smell of PotC, it just may not be possible to duplicate precisely. I keep looking for something that reminds me of bromine (the chemical Disney treats their water with), but it hasn't happened yet. I think it's a purple unicorn I am looking for, the combination of bromine, theatrical fog, and musty root cellar. I will say Three Cheeky Chicks does have that cannon fire, must smell to my nose.

No Fusion in my neck of the woods. :(

Thanks for the tip!

Besides Scentsationals and BHG, I am liking Target's Threshold melts. The company that makes them for Target is Hanna's Candle Company, and I've ordered online from them as well. I have a few favorites from Hobby Lobby's DD brand (Splash!, Lavender & Oakwood...), and they're often on sale for half off, both online and off.

My warmer is plugged into a timer - the warmer doesn’t have a built in timer. The way I wrote my post does look like I said the warmer has a built in timer.

That’s a good idea....I might snitch that!

I got some from Magic Candle Company for Christmas and I'm not happy with them. I picked up wax melts from Target (literally printed that it's distributed by them) and I love the scents and how long they last! I have Hickory Embers and Winter Magic. I use my wax melter in my home office so the air doesn't smell as stale after sitting all day long.

A lady in my husband's office had a Pink Zebra party back in the fall and she roped him into buying a couple warmers and a bunch of scents. I'm just disappointed in how long they melts last - it seems like they smell great for about 2 days and then they are done. I bought some a Kroger for less than $3 a pack that seem to last better than the Pink Zebra ones.

I put my warmer onto a smart plug so I can turn it off and on from my phone.

Gotcha - still a clever idea!

Yes, the Target melts are really nice. Thus far, I really like Lavender White Tea, Seaside Driftwood, and Twilight Birch. I haven't gotten any yet, but there's something like six new scents that have been added recently. Another thing about Target is I like the small Room Essentials bins, which I keep all of my wax in. About 18 standard clamshells can fit upright in two rows, side by side.

Another person lucky enough to live near a Kroeger! I keep seeing pix of the complete Fusion "travel line" that was just introduced. It has scents like "Macchu Pichu" and "Capri Coast."
