I tried to get an answer to this in the community board but to no avail.
So I figured I'd try my Budget Buddies.

I was wondering if someone who is familiar with Wawa's French Vanilla cappicino coffee that you get from the push button coffee machine could help me? I was wondering what to or how to order a coffee from starbucks that would come as close to that coffee as possible. DH and I like Wawa's French Vanilla cappicino coffee but don't like drinking any other kinds of coffee. We love our sugar. :goodvibes

I am a Starbucks barista, and I recommend that you do NOT order a cappuccino-Wawa's is not a true cappuccino. Starbucks cappuccino is shots of espresso with steamed and foamed milk, mostly foam. It feels very light. (and is delicious!) We have no "French Vanilla" syrup, what we usually do when a customer orders french vanilla is use both vanilla and hazelnut syrups. A latte is espresso with mostly steamed milk with a cap of foam. Order a vanilla hazelnut latte to get that "French Vanilla" flavor. You could get a coffee and have the syrups added, then add your dairy at the condiment bar (and extra sugar if you'd like), but a latte is a smoother drink, and the vanilla taste comes out better.
Enjoy!

Should I ask for it to be made with whole milk so it will be creamier? I heard starbucks makes all their drinks with skim milk unless asked for something different.

Everything is made with 2% unless asked. Vanilla latte would be closest. You can ask for it with whole.

Another starbucks barista here chiming in :)

I like to ask a question about the hot chocolate. I think the hot chocolate is made with milk so can I get it made with whole milk?

Also what flavor syrups can I get in it?

does a Starbucks cappuccino have sugar in it? I don't like sweet coffee drinks, would I likea cappuccino?
Sorry to hijack the thread but I've always wondered what to order at Starbucks since I've never dared to order from one!

It's a strong hot chocolate. Just so you know. :)

I've had the hot chocolate a few times and find it not strong at all. I usually get the peppermint hot chocolate and was wondering what other flavors I could get in it.

Cappuccinos or lattes do not have any sugar in them. Unless it is a flavored drink, we do not put sugar in any drink. My regular drink is a nonfat latte, and it has a sweetness all its own due to the steamed milk. No sugar!
There are 2 kinds of hot chocolate, our original "classic" which is steamed milk with vanilla and mocha syrups, topped with whipped cream. You can get whole milk, although there isn't a whole lot of difference between 2% and whole.
The other is our new Signature Hot Chocolate, a blend of 4 European coccoas and made with nonfat milk. We prepare it daily and it is steamed to order. We really can't make it with whole milk, as we make 2 pitchers at a time. It is very rich-you'd never know it's made with nonfat milk, and it isn't lo-cal or lo-fat. There is a plain version, a hazelnut version, and a salted caramel version. The salted is fabulous, with toffee nut syrup in it, topped with whipped cream, caramel sauce and a sprinkling of smoked sea salt. It brings out the sweetness and butteriness of the caramel.
You can ask to have any of our syrups added to coffees, lattes, etc. Flavors are vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, toffee nut, cinnamon dolce (like a warm cinnamon bun), raspberry, peppermint, mocha, white mocha and classic. Currently we also have pumpkin spice, while it lasts. There are sugar free versions of vanilla, caramel, cinnamon dolce and hazelnut.
I think that's all!

What do you think about the cinnamon dolce creme? Is it a nice sweet sugary dessert kinda drink?

DH and I like sweet sugary drinks so any kind you can recommend would be great.
We only get to enjoy these things when we take our short trips to Atlantic City. :goodvibes

A Cinnamon Dolce latte tastes like a warm cinnamon bun, or Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, or cinnamon toast, depending on who you ask in my store, lol. It is a sweet cinnamon, not spicy. It is topped with whipped cream and cinnamon sugar. It is sweet.
Other "Sweet" options would be a white mocha latte (white chocolate sauce, espresso, steamed milk, whipped cream)-most consider it the sweetest latte. I have a customer who gets a venti(large-20 oz) white mocha with 7 pumps of syrup. (2 extra pumps)
Also sweet is a caramel macchiato-a layered latte with vanilla syrup on the bottom, steamed and foamed milk next, espresso shot(s) floating on that, topped with caramel sauce drizzle. Some customers will stir it first and/or ask for extra drizzle. Some even get whipped cream on it. Definitely sweet. Sweet tooth customer gets a grande (medium-16oz) with 5 pumps vanilla (norm is 3),stirred, extra drizzle and whipped cream.

ArielRae,

I was in South Jersey today and thought of your post and stopped in WaWa for the French Vanilla lol. We dont have any WaWa's in North Jersey.

So how did you like it? Did you get the potted french vanilla or the one out of the machine?

Anouther question for the baristas.

Can I order a Cinnamon dolce creme, and the salted caramel signature hot chocolate in a short size?

I figured DH and I can try both if we can get it in the smaller size.

Edited to add: What hot drinks can you not get in the short size?

Just wanted to chime in and say my top three favorites at Starbucks are:

1. Cinnamon Dolce Latte
2. White Chocolate Mocha
3. Pumpkin Spice Latte

Yummo....I just might have to stop at Starbucks today....my mouths watering!

I have anouther question. I did some searching around the internet and found out that Starbucks is offering $1.00 shorts and Free refills on their poured coffees. Can anyone tell me if this is going on? I read they are doing it to compete with McDonalds.

I've had the hot chocolate a few times and find it not strong at all. I usually get the peppermint hot chocolate and was wondering what other flavors I could get in it.

I guess it was strong to me because I'm used to the watered down McDonald's hot chocolate. :lmao:

Just noticed a mention of a cinnamon dolce creme-that would have NO espresso in it, just the syrup, milk and whip. Make sure to order a cinnamon dolce latte.

All hot beverages can be made in short (8oz) size. I'm not sure what the price difference is with lattes, but I do know that a short coffee is $1.66 and a tall (12 oz) coffee is $1.77 with tax in my store. The signature hot chocolates are so rich to me ( a nonfat latte drinker) that I can only handle them in a short size.

If you have a registered Starbucks gift card and pay for your coffee with it, coffee refills while still in the cafe are free. Using it to pay for most lattes (except mocha, white mocha, cinnamon dolce and pumpkin spice) will have your syrup and soy be on the house. Go to www.starbucks.com to get more info. The card must be registered online.

I've been off for 3 days, but as far as I know there is no "short" special. There is a special on our new tea lattes on Tuesdays for $2.00. Also, I've heard about an offer where if you promise to volunteer 5 hours in your community in 2009, you will get a free tall coffee between Jan 21-25. I believe there is a pledge card to fill out. I'll know more tomorrow.

Home of Wawa here.

To answer pp, my dh used to be a Wawa FVC junkee.

Homemade with hot water - our original choice after Wawa stopped selling their Cap. in a container - Superior Coffee FVC. Some time later we discovered Hills Bros. FVC, which is somewhat cheaper. Target is the best price we've found.
