Waterslides at resorts

We are staying at Kidani in a few weeks and I’m curious if parents can hold their kids while going down water slides. My son is 2 1/2.

Parents are not allowed to hold children on the water slides. One rider must go down at a time. This is enforced as there is a lifeguard specifically assigned to the waterslide at all the resorts. However, your son might be ok going down himself in a life jacket if he is comfortable swimming and going under on his own in a puddle jumper at home. Both of my boys enjoyed water slides prior to turning 3. If he is wants to try it, it is best to send one adult down first to be there when he comes out the slide, then the little one, and then a 2nd adult who can help him go when the light is green. Every kid is different.

There is a very small slide at Kidani, one parent can be at the top, one at the bottom waiting. While it is a straight, 3 foot slide, it is an option (also note that it seemed most kids didnt even make it off the end of the little slide, so you may need to assist to get off).

The big slide, only one at a time. Can do the split thing, but then you are guessing as to when yours will be the one coming down.

AKL was our very first wdw resort. And it’s where I first learned no more than one person can go down any slide at a time regardless of age since I went down holding my then three year old. Oops!
