Waterside table at Blue Bayou?

After going back and forth about whether we ought to eat at BB, my DH decided he'd like to give it a shot for lunch. We have 11:30 reservations on a Saturday, right when they open. What time should we show up if we want to get a table by the water?

11ish. Everyone gets waterside at the first seating, but I'd make sure to be there early just to ensure it!

We had an 11:30 reservation and were there by 11:10 and were able to get a waterside table no problem!

We usually do early dinner time. I get there 20 mins to 30 mins early and put in request then usually wait 10 to 15 mins after reservation time.... but totally worth it it an awesome experience.

You can get 2 tables together to seat more than 4. However, for waterside, it's recommended to do the first seating of the meal.

I just tell them that I'd prefer a waterside table when I check in for our reservation, and that I have no problem waiting a little longer to get one. They have always been accommodating.

I'm just now realising how lucky I was to get a waterside table without trying last year - we didn't request it or arrive early. It was a lovely setting (and great meal).

They don't stop serving between lunch and dinner. There would have to be 2 empty tables next to each other that can be moved together and that they'll move together. You can request, but that's not a given.

Yeah, tho I was looking thru the online booking options for every time between 3:00 and 5:00, and it looks like you can book as late as 3:30 for lunch and then no earlier than 4:20 for dinner, with every 10 min increment before 3:30 and every 10 min after 4:20 being options... so they do have a moratorium on reservations between 3:30 and 4:20 to cleanse their tables of the lunch crowd. It's possible some stragglers could remain from the 3:30 bookings but they would be few. We'll try it, see how it goes. Given every 10 min time slot is readily available, I'm not too worried.

I'm not sure if you will get waterside unless you let them know that you are willing to wait for one. In February we got an 11:30 reservation, but only because I kept checking back a couple of times a day and got lucky. Reservations do open up sometimes, so it wouldn't hurt to keep checking back. My original reservation was 11:50. Good luck.

Oh, interesting, I've got a 4:20 ressie on Mother's Day, May 8th. Didn't realize that was the first dinner ressie, actually thought I missed the first dinner settings, lol. I was trying to get a first dinner ressie,(and turns out I did, lol!) to be able to get a waterside table.

So, with the 4:20 ressie, and allowing for having to wait, when should I get there to have a good shot at a waterside table for two? I was thinking of checking in about 3:30, does that seem good or not early enough?

Hmm that's not a bad wait really, especially for such a big party. Maybe 3:30 would be a little early for two, or maybe they'd seat us early if there was room by the water. But, then again, we are going the last day they are open, which is Mother's Day! Yikes, that could be bad. Hmm.
