I have 4 cats and 3 litterboxes. My whole house has laminate flooring except for the bathrooms and kitchen. I can't put the litter boxes in the bathrooms, because one is too small and the other is where my dog sleeps at night.Right now, the litter boxes are in the kitchen, but I want to change that.

One of the cats sometimes gets too close to the edge of the box and so pee gets on the floor. I am looking for some kind of floor covering to put under the litterboxes that will stop the pee from getting into the laminate. Ideally it would be something I could wash, so I don't have to keep replacing it. Any ideas?

I think the pee would just run off a tablecloth. I was thinking indoor/outdoor carpet, but not sure if that is washable or not.

What about one of those black plastic trays they make to go under washing machines? That could contain it at least. Or maybe towels on top of a vinyl tablecloth?

We use an old bath rug under ours. It has a rubber backing and is easy to toss in the wash. Be careful with whatever you use as any moisture can cause it to stick.

my mil uses pee pads...actually she uses chux..(the ones for adults, because they are cheaper than the pet ones)

Hmmm...those might work. With three litter boxes, I need something fairly large, so I will just have to see how big they are. Where would I get the adult ones vs. pet ones?

The bath mat is a good idea too, but I'd need quite a few. I am thinking of covering an area of about 4' by 4' with two litter boxes in the middle. The third is in my son's room and the cat who misses is not allowed in their for other reasons.

SkyMall magazine has an indoor "potty" pad that looks like grass for dogs. I am sure you can get one elsewhere but I just saw it there. It looks to be big enough for 2 litter boxes. I am sure you can take it outside and hose it down quite easily. A friend is thinking about getting one of those for their dog for when they are on their boat.
