I have little ones, 4 & 2. We are headed to WDW in the summer hot:!) and so we were wondering if waterparks are worth doing with such little kids? Or best to stick to the hotel pools??
Assuming neither are at 40 inches (which mine weren't at that age) I'd stick to your resort pool personally. Now I will publicly admit that I am not a waterpark person to begin with so my view is somewhat biased.

We love Blizzard Beach and although we don't have little ones, there is a kids play area called Tikes Peak that looks great for kids. Here is a link from All Ears with information about it:
You definitely should bring you little ones to Typhoon Lagoon! Even if they aren't big on thrills, there's white sand beaches and a wave pool(closely watched by six lifeguards) Also like Blizzard Beach there is a great kids area called ketchakiddee creek! Finally, Typhoon Lagoon boasts a snorkeling experience( although I think there might be an age limit)
AKV and OKW both have great pools -- I think they'll keep your little ones quite entertained. The waterparks can be a bit daunting for a 2 y.o., but if yours is a fish, maybe he/she will love it.
Don't forget, you can pool hop if you're DVC and the added benefit for your particular stay is that no one can pool hop *to* the pools at AKV!
Mine were almost 4 and 16 months when we went last and we did Blizzard Beach. They enjoyed the kids area but we decided that the pool would have been just fine. We will wait until they are tall enough for the big slides before we go again. There are some pretty good little kid slides though so if you do go there will be things for them to do

I tend to agree with DvF Diva. the waterparks ca be budy, noisy and intimidating for young kids. i think the resort pools are ideal for 'smaller' children.
Thanks all!! There's a new deal for DVC for a discount on the water parks PAP but I'm not sure it's worth it for our family. Then again, if I wait till 2015 to activate it we might use it when they are 5&3... Hmm decisions decisions. Thanks for all the thoughts!
I would skip the waterparks at that age. Its a lot of work getting them there and back and they won't even realize they're missing it. And like others said, if they're not even tall enough for the slides, probably not worth it. Something to look forward to when they're older.
If you are at Kidani then for sure I would skip the water park as they have an awesome kids area at the pool. I guess you would transport up there for a pool day even if you are at JH.
OKW is a great pool with great activities ~ for kids a little bit older though I think. We didn't do the water parks when my kids were little and now I wish we had. They are too big for the kiddie area...
The kiddie area at the water park is pretty much deep enough for them to walk and play... which the pools are not. The small kiddie pools are but those are tiny. If you are planning a WHOLE pool day I'd say Typhoon Lagoon!
