What are your experiences with water parks in November? Too cold? is water heated? what are the hours? is it worth it? This is our 3rd trip, and WE'VE NEVER DONE THEM...we'd really like to and we have UPHs, so it would be cool...

We went to Blizzard Beach on the seventh day of our eight day trip in November 2000. It turned out to be the one day of our trip that was too cold for the water parks! The first hour or so was fine. The sun was out, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. No lines for any of the slides and we had a ball. Then it turned cloudy and began to rain softly. After about an hour, it began to rain harder and the temperature dropped significantly and it was cold! Almost all the other guests left. We finally decided we were too miserably cold to continue, we'd do one more slide and leave. We climbed to the top of the slide and the CM said "they're closing the park due to nearby lightening." They made us walk down the steps even though my husband argued it would be much faster and therefore safer, to go down the slide. The CM was not convinced! As we left, we were given rain tickets for a future admission to BB. It rained the rest of the day and would have been much too cold to be at BB. However, we're going this November and I'm planning a day at TL, since BB will be closed for rehab. This is a very long answer to your question, but I guess my bottom line is our experience was that November is hit and miss as far as the water parks go. During our trip, the weather was fine for water parks on seven of the eight days we were there. We picked the wrong day. The other moral to my story is, don't leave the water park at the first sign of inclement weather-they may decide to close the park and you'll get a rain check.

No, but I've been to them in January and February, and I enjoyed them a LOT! Of course, I'm from Minnesota originally, and COLD is a relative term.

The first time I went to BB was in February when the hi temp was 70 (and it was WINDY, which made it feel like mid-60's or so). There were literally more CM's in the park than guests - it was me and a family of about 8 from the UK. We had the entire place to ourselves. While I wouldn't recommend the chair lift on a cool, breezy day (especially if you're already wet), I didn't have a problem staying warm, as the water is heated, and with low crowds like I experienced I spent as much time in the heated water as I did walking back up the mountain.

Now that was an unusual experience, granted, but I've also gone in January when it was very temperate, and I spent about 2 1/2 hours in the Typhoon Lagoon wavepool, which was a blast, and I never felt cold.

Again, COLD is a relative term. I shivered at TL only once in January, and that was when I dove into the chilly shark reef tank. BRRRR! But that tank is cold every day, even in August.

I hadn't heard about this!! Is that a definate and do you know when it will be closed? We'll be in Orlando from the 5th to the 13th and I had hoped to visit BB!

Thanks!

I believe that BB is set to close for rehabe on Nov. 1. We will also miss it this Nov. but TL is really fun too.:)

As a previous poster suggested, it all depends on what you're used to. We went 3 times when we lived in Massachusetts. Loved the water parks, while the locals wore their jackets and looked at us like we were crazy. Then we moved down here, where the climate is similar to Orlando. Went to WDW in November from here, and wondered why all the crazy people were swimming in such cold weather!

Thanks, Disneycrazymom!

I guess we'll just have to check out TL then if the weather cooperates!:D
