I really detest paying for "extras" when going to parks.
I was googling a few things and saw a couple of people recommended these attached to the lounger - I thought they look like a great idea and I can use them in the hotel too - pop it in the room safe for added safety for our passports and credit cards that we don't have on us.
Thoughts ??

Check the rules. Volcano Bay banned them, I was told by security it was because guests kept leaving them behind. (I didn’t know and they had just implemented the rule a couple years ago, security stored it for me and I picked it up on my way out.)

Attaching something that is not removable by staff to a Disney lounge chair is against Disney’s rules. If you are an onsite guest the lockers are free.
We always stay on site and have to pay for the lockers at TL. When did they become free?

Thanks. For Volcano Bay we plan on getting one of the loungers that come with a little lock box in the sunbed so all good there, It's mainly Aquatica.
If I can't use it there so be it, I'll use it for our hotels anyway, and just pop my phone and credit cards into a waterproof neck pouch.

I believe most hotels have an in room safe, but I had another thought; while the safe may be tough to break into, what if a thief simply cuts the cable/chain that is securing it to something?

Buy a waterproof lanyard and take your stuff with you. I did this at TL last year and it was easy. I wouldn't leave stuff secured to a chair, it can be cut off. Not likely, but it can happen. Take as little as possible with you. If you are staying on Disney property, all you really need is a MB or your room card, both can get wet and you can charge food and merchandise back to your room account. Leave your other items in the hotel room safe.

I ended up buying it but returned it. It was SO BIG and heavy! I had no idea how big it would be.

So we will just use our waterproof phone pouch.
