We will be down there the week before Easter.. myself, wife and DD.. This trip we have decided to some different things, other than hitting the parks from open to close, and a water park is something we have never done..Comments???

IMHO, the waterpark could be lots of fun, but you might be doing many things on your own - i.e., you and your DW will need to take turns watching/playing with your DD.

Be sure to bring lots of sunscreen for the baby - I still have a vivid memory of someone's very sunburned little one. Not a pretty picture! I'm sure the parents just never realized what was happening until it was too late.

Enjoy the trip!

They make a great baby carrier for pools and showers. We had one and used it on the lazy river.

Arrive before opening so you can get some shade.

I wouldn't. Like Carol said, one of you will have to watch the baby while the other does the slides and things alone. I would just go to the hotel pool.

IMO, it depends on two factors:

1) Will you be comfortable going on (and waiting in line for) the big slides by yourself? Obviously, those will be off limits for your DD, and they can take some major time.

2) What's your "Nervous Nellie Quotient?" Even on the lazy river, your DD would likely get splashed, and if that will make you or your DW freak out, it's not a good idea.

If it were me, I'd douse both of us with SPF45 and spend hours floating around in a circle. But then my "NNQ" is very low.

Thanks everyone!!!

How about the chemicals in the water, can an infants skin (and eyes) handle that????

Hi

When my son was 7 months old, we took him to Typhoon Lagoon and had a great time. We took a pack n' play with a canopy, found a shaded spot (we were there first thing so we could get a good location), and we took turns doing what each one of us wanted to do (which was easy, since I'm a chicken about slides). We just really enjoyed the atmosphere and relaxed. Having the pack n' play made it enjoyable.

We're planning on taking our new little guy who will be 8 months when we visit in April. In this case, one of us will be making the rounds with our now 7 year old!

As long as you go just for hanging out, it's great. Have fun - we found traveling with a 7 month old great fun - it was the three year old on our last trip that made us nuts!
