Waterpark pass questions

I've booked a 9-day/8-night trip the first week of September, with park passes for just the 7 full days I'll be there. Since I don't have a flight booked yet, I have no idea when I'll be arriving/departing, so it made sense not to purchase park tickets for those days. I have also bought the add-ons for park-hoping and using the waterparks.

My question is this: Am I only allowed to access the waterparks on the actual 7 days that I have park tickets, or can I visit them on the day of my arrival/departure? Also, are you allowed to hop from one waterpark to the next, or are you limited to one each day?

No, you can use them on any day between check-in and including your check-out day. For example, you could use one on your arrival and your departure day along with a few in between. You could also use one of those 7 days for a regular park day on your arrival/departure day.

You can "hop" from one waterpark to the next, however you will be charged 2 of your water park & fun tix to do this. Unlike the regular park tix, the waterpark and more part are good for 1 use...so if you have a 7 day regular park pass with the waterpark & more & hoppers, each entrance into a water park, Disney Quest etc. is counted towards those 7 days. -With the regular parks, you could go to Epcot and MK on the same day and only be charged with 1 tix.

For Example:

Sun.: MK & Epcot (1 regular park tix with hopper used)
Mon.: Typhoon Lagoon (1 water park tix used)
Wed.: Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon (2 water park tix used)
Thurs.: AK & Typhoon Lagoon (1 reg. park tix & 1 water park tix used)
Fri.: Blizzard Beach & Disney Quest (2 water park tix used)

For this you would have used a total of 2 regular park tix and 6 of your water park tix out of the 7 you have for each).

Think of the water parks & more stuff as how many "entrances" you use of your total of 7 and think of the regular parks as how many days you went to a regular park of your total of 7.

Very interesting! Thanks for helping to explain how those work.

So here's my follow-up scenario and question. I'm allotting one day to Hollywood Studios, but from everything I've been told and read, it isn't worth a full day. However, I want to make sure I do get the best rides and I'm very keen to see the Star Wars light show and fireworks that evening. Is it worth going at rope drop to keep the lines short, then leave and hit a waterpark, then come back in the evening to see the rest? Or do the waterpark in the morning, then go to HS after Noon and just stay until closing? I'm struggling to figure out the timing for that day. While I'm HOPING that because I'm around Labor Day means the crowds won't be bad, I still have no idea what to expect there.

Just know that your tickets are generally good for 14 days after first use, so you have 14 days to use up your water fun and more.

I'd use fast pass, and do the water park on the day I'm going to the park that's staying open the latest. I've also been known to water park, HS, then hop to MK that has extra late hours. I've love a water park morning visit the best. The lines tend to not be long on a week day, and since they don't generally open to around 10am, it's a sleep late day.

Have fun.

FYI, as mentioned by the poster above, the water park admissions are good for 14 days after the ticket is first used, so the ending is not tied to your checkout date (they're not tied to your checkin date either unless the tickets are part of a room package). It is correct that you can use them in any order, even multiple on the same day.

I would hit the water park first thing, then go over to HS. With good FPs booked you can get the best stuff at HS (the shows really don't need FP). Water parks don't have FPs at all, so being there right when they open is your best bet to get a lot of it done with minimal lines. When the water park gets crowded in the heat of the early afternoon, hit it for HS (keep in mind your clothing and all - they have showers and lockers at the water parks, but you might not want to carry your wet stuff, so factor in a stop at the room if needed).

It depends on what you want to ride at HS. If you want to do Toy Story, RnR, and ToT. Then I would rope drop HS to take advantage of a few rides, head to a water park, then go back to HS in the afternoon with your 3 FP's set up then

Upon thinking a bit more about this, another option might be to be there for rope drop, ride what I can before the lines gets crazy, then take a boat over to the Boardwalk area to explore and get some lunch, then come back for the FPs and evening shows. I guess it'll depend on if I feeling like a waterpark that day or not. :)
