Hi - Thinking about doing a Disney water park only trip. We have never done them before. We have an airfare credit to use for southwest. The only time we can go is July. Is it best to get an annual pass for the water parks? Also is it better to rent car stay offsite or stay on property. I thought I heard the buses to water park weren't that great. I did the math and it's about the same price. Minivans are about 400 to rent for week in july. Also want to take a day and go to Kennedy Space Center, are there are bus tours that will pick you up at Disney to go or do we have to rent care for the day?

I would stay offsite, rent a car (keep looking for better offers), and depending on how many days of WP you are planning, getting WP APs might be the way to go. Since you'll have a car, you can go to Kennedy SC and day you want. There is no parking fee at the Waterparks.

If you are looking for a discount vacation, have you thought about the 14 day Aquatica/Sea World/Busch Gardens/Adventure Island tickets with free parking? They are $139 each (before any discount) - it's only $24/more per person that a Disney water park annual pass (and that's assuming you can't find a discount) and you get 2 theme parks and 2 water parks for a full vacation.

I see them on the Undercover Tourist site for $148.38. Not sure where you can get discounts on them, do you get the Mousesavers newsletter?

Thanks for the info. We just did Seaworld and Aquatica a few years ago. Looking for something we never did before.

We actually prefer both Disney water parks to Aquatica by a pretty wide margin. In fact among the 8 water parks we've been to, it was probably my least favorite whereas TL & BB rank behind only Noah's Ark (again, among the ones we've done). So for us, we could absolutely do a Disney WP-only vacation & have loads of fun! I'd definitely stay offsite. Be sure to take advantage of the low crowds from 6-8 pm.

We were on a budget last year and purchased the disney water parks season pass. We loved it! You get your disney fix on a fraction of the cost. We are headed back down the first week in June to get our money's worth. We always stay offsite a wyndham bonnet creek. The resort itself is so relaxing. We leave the water parks and spend the rest of the night at the pools. You won't be disappointed we love the parks!

We found the Disney water parks very disappointing. We grew up with Schitterbahn as our local water park, and going to the Disney water parks fell far short in comparison. The ski lift at BB and wave pool at TL were fun, but otherwise I wouldn't consider them worth a day, much less a trip.
