WATERmania?

I was going over the package we recieved from the travel agent, and we recieved to complimentary passes to something called WATERmania, anyone ever hear of this place? If so should we bother with it. We were not planning on any water parks, but if it is good maybe we should go.

The unofficial guide says it's nice. Beware,though, it closes early - 5pm, I think. They are offering a 2nd day free now, FYI. Book says it's less crowded than either the Disney waterparks or the popular Wet-n-Wild water park that is off-property.

We'll probably check it out when we're there in a week. Reports have been that the water parks are very crowded now and it may be worthwhile to go off-site so you can at least have a spot on the pavement to call your own. I'll let you know when I return what my opinion of it is.

Hi Lithium, we went there last year with our two teen boys. We had a lot of fun. It's an older park - nothing fancy. We were there in September, so it wasn't busy at all. Most of the slides had a wait of about 5 minutes. Dh's favorite ride was a boogey board attraction that has a wave that you ride on a board. (Its next to the family inner tube ride.) The line for that board ride was longer - probably 15 min, but its fun watching people try to ride the wave! I wouldn't want to go if its busy - but if you're there during an offseason - it's great! The last time we went to River Country the lines seemed to take forever. We stayed at Water Mania for about 4 hours.

You can also look them up at www.watermania-florida.com. It is slightly more home-spun than the other water parks, but still has some great slides and also has more shaded areas than most.
