do you drink the water in the villas???
or
do you use bottled water for you coffee etc.

DH drinks the water in the villas, I drink bottled water. I do admit to using the water from the tap when I do make coffee, however...to my dismay! I have to remember to buy at least a gallon bottle of water, and not only the individual sized bottles!

We were pleasantly surprised at the water at OKW. It was actually good. I had brought a five gallon jug from home and we never used it.

We have always used the tap water at the DVC Resorts without any problems. Though I do admit to picking up icy cold water bottles from the vendors in the parks on some of those sweltering, hot summer days!

We do both.

Bottled water is convenient and portable. I like it ice cold.

WDW tap water is convenient and potable (sorry for this). use it mainly for coffee. I actually am more concerned about ice cubes from commercial ice-makers than I am about tap water (slime in the ice machine etc). I always travel with ice cube trays if I know I will have a freezer.

Have to say, I have never heard of any issues with drinking water quality of WDW.

The only WDW resort I do not drink the tap water is Fort Wilderness (whether at campsite or cabin) . This is not because I am aware of any problems with their water, I just have it ingrained into me from long experience not to drink campwater anywhere.

Regards,

DH and I use the tap water, but we use it the night before*; we'll fill up the coffee maker for the next morning, and then, after washing out our water holders, we fill them up and put them in the fridge over night. :thumbsup2

During the following day, we usually refill those bottles in restaurants (with some ice). Occasionally, in dire emergency, we'll use the fountain water from the parks instead.

*It takes away the chlorine-y taste (and reminds us of the time we had a fish tank..................but that's another story  )

I was very unpleasantly surprised by the taste of the tap water at SSR this summer. Won't go into details, but it was hot and I was terribly thirsty, so I filled up the ice bucket and ate some ice cubes and drank the melted water. Tasty. Then tried a glass of tap water and was surprised at how unpleasant it tasted.

Guess we are in the minority here. We NEVER drink the WDW tap water or use it for coffee. We buy one or more of the really big water jugs with a spigot during our trip to Publix. At home we have a whole-house filtering system so the chemical taste of the WDW water is not okay with us.

We fill a suitcase with bottled water, being careful not go to overweight. The empty suitcase then provides space for Disney goodies if desired.

I have a Staples Reward card - if you are a member, you can order a case of bottled water from them and they will deliver it right to the resort. No delivery fee.

We have bought gallon jugs of water on past trips to use for coffee, etc.. From now on I plan to keep a brita filter in our owners locker to use. Neither DH or I care for the taste of the water in Orlando, so we need it filtered.

The water at Disney/Florida is fine healthwise to use for everything, but lets be honest it smells and tastes pretty bad imo and I'm not just talking about chlorine. Someone told me why but I forget now. I drink bottled water when there myself.

Yep, we hate most tap water for the very same reason! Just can't beat that Kinetico reverse osmosis system!

There is a high concentration of sulphur in the Central Florida water supply. We have noticed it as far North as Lake City. Over the years, Disney has done a pretty good job with installing filters to improve the taste of the water.

I had been to Disney as a toddler in '71 and '73 and stayed at off-site campgrounds with really swampy sulphur water. I returned 19 years later for my honeymoon in '92. We stayed off site, and DH about gagged when he tried to brush his teeth. "OMG, what is wrong with this water?" I tasted and said, "oh yeah, the water is awful here, I forgot." We now bring bottled water for everything and order soft drinks in the parks with no ice.

We live in Alabama, and the tap water is generally good here, so we notice bad water.

When visiting WDW, I don't drink the foul smelling tap water. I play it safe and drink BEER!

We only do bottled water. BTW, Staples no longer delivers for free ($50 minimum order). Some people will order a cartridge for their printer to avoid the shipping fee. Costco will deliver for free if you order through their website. If you are a non-member you pay a 5% surcharge on the order.
