We have a water view studio booked for February break but wondering where I should request. My husband is having foot surgery so he will be limited on walking . We will probably be spending a lot of our time at the main pool and around the resort. Haven’t stayed at the Poly since we bought into the DVC back in 1992.

Lake View studios at Poly are ONLY on the lake side of Moorea. So there's not a lot of request to be made. Most people request second or third floor for a better view.

If he's limited walking, you'll be going out the exit near the elevator regardless so there is not a request that is going to reduce walking much, save first floor or near elevator. And near elevator will be noisy.

It's not a huge building, and the elevator is in the middle, so there's not really a request that will help with walking.

It is right next to TTC, which should be convenient for him!

For LV PVB rooms, we like to request higher floor simply because most of the first floor LV PVB rooms are same level as the bungalows. As a result, the bungalows block most of the lake.
2nd is better, 3rd is best for view over the bungalows and seeing the entire lake.

Enjoy your stay. When staying PVB lake view, we like to order room service. If possible, have it delivered just before MK fireworks. We then dine on the balcony while watching the fireworks. Makes for a very private dining experience.

Enjoy your trip.

Currently the only resort offering room service is Grand Floridian.

There are some pseudo lake views in Tokelau (it’s perpendicular to the lake) and looks out on the quiet pool. It’s closer to the main building (but further from TTC

Right but OP booked Lake View and won't get them, and if OP booked Standard there is no guarantee they would get one of those ~6 units.
