From another thread I was reading. Do you drink water? Do your children drink water? As in a main source of liquid.

I am finding that many people (in my real life) don't take advantage of water and its benefits.

Except for a glass of milk with dinner, my son and I drink nothing but water all day long. We both have Camelbak bottles. Mine is a 24 oz and I drink at least 3 full bottles a day (4 or more when I've had swim practice) and my son usually goes through 2 of his 12 oz bottles each day (he's 5). We don't drink soda nor juice (except rare occasions). Water is all the body needs. Cold water from the filter of the fridge is great for the metabolism, too. And we don't drink bottled water (unless we are out somewhere and HAVE to buy water). We get it from the door of our fridge.

Camelbak bottles for me and the kiddies. They have juice with breakfast, milk with lunch and dinner, and water pretty much whenever else. They do occasionally get juice with a snack, but we try to do milk or water. :thumbsup2 DS needs his own cow at this point...not sure why he craves milk so much, but he just can't get enough.

At a restaurant I usually get a glass of water in addition to a soda. I like really, really cold water (actually I like ice - especially crushed ice that I can chew on :rolleyes1) But I get the water to take my pills with. I "can" take them with soda - but something about swallowing pills with a drink is different than just swallowing a drink and I seem to get more air in the swallow. :confused3 With soda that leads to a "belchy" feeling. So - water for my pills please.

I drink a lot of water. and some times I use the little flavor packets to give myself a treat.

DD and I are water drinker. DH is getting into it a little, but drinks mostly soda. To me it's not really savings because our water is hard well water and it tastes awful. DD can't have hard well water and I can't stand the taste of it. So yeah bottled water for us, I drink water but I'm bad for the environment... :(
Trust me I've tried britta pitcher, filter straight from the tap, whatever you can think of... it still tastes awful awful awful.

It always amazes me when people don't like water :confused3 DH family is one of them. Neither of his parents will drink water or his younger brother. They make a big deal if we are over there and they are out of kool-aid for the kids. They act like its gross if I say don't make anymore, they'll just have water. "oohh, just water??"

We drink water! We have a Brita pitcher we keep in the fridge. I won't buy bottled water when we have perfectly good FREE water from our tap. We also drink skim milk and the occasional soda. No juice.

DD (14 months old) nurses & drinks water. She'll drink 2-3 9oz cups a day when it's hot. We've only recently started giving her a small cup of whole milk each day, more because she likes it than because she needs it.

I drink gallons of water every day, as do my kids. I grew up drinking it, we have a water cooler, and the only other drinks we have are oj, skim milk, seltzer, and unsweetened iced tea. When I pack them lunch, they get water. There are many days that water is the only drink they've had. I'm SO glad my mom got me hooked!

I voted the first one BUT I don't MAKE my kids drink water, they just want it. They do have juice or milk as well but we all mostly drink water.

I was going to edit my post, adding that I don't make them drink it - they love it! :cool1:

This isn't really the same thing, but my partner is pretty picky about the taste of her water. We have a plastic souvenir cup from the aquarium that I use to put water in for us when we go out because it's really big, but she said she can taste the plastic & doesn't like it. It tastes fine to me. She also doesn't like water from other places - we went on vacation to PA and she wouldn't drink the tap water there. (She grew up in FL & used to drink that water, but I guess 10 years of living "up north" has made her picky!)

Yes, we are all water drinkers, even my 16 1/2 month old. We do drink other things as well but the bulk is water.

Point well taken on the first option. I just see so many of my children's friends who say, "my parents don't make us drink water".

I should say here, we all drink water. I have to push and remind my kids to get the full daily amount as they would much rather has a juice or soda.

We have milk, coffe, and juice for breakfast.

Water throughout the day. (We own a Pur filter on our faucet)

Unsweet and litely sweetened tea for dinner or milk.

And occasionally this kids and DH have milk at bedtime. My stomach can't do that, so it's water for me.

I purchase 5 12packs of soda for the entire summer. The kids can decide on how they want to drink it. I do know if they have more than one in a day though because they are like this:dance3:.

DH and I have an 8pack each of Lipton tea for the summer. DH gets the half and half (lemonade/ice tea) and I like the citrus green tea. It averages to about one per week.

I just gave up a 25 year Diet Coke addiction (last soda was on 5/19!!!!!) and am drinking mostly water and Chrystal Light now along with some green tea.

Lots and lots of water here. My kids drink it as well. DH drinks it now, but his family is a soda family. Morning, nooon and night soda, soda, soda. I can't believe how much my MIL drinks. Even after health scares where the Dr. says drink water, she won't do it. Her new kick is juice, thinks it is better for her than soda, but goes through a gallon of white grape juice daily. Gosh I wonder why she is putting on weight while on a low cholesterol, lowfat, low sugar diet...umm yeah that juice is loaded with sugar, natural or not it is still sugar!

I am very surprised in the results (surprised in a good way) but it has me thinking that maybe non-water drinkers may not reply or read...:confused3

I was going to say the same thing about "making" the kids drink it:confused3

DH drinks coffee in the mornings and I drink a Coke (I really need to break that habit) but otherwise all 4 of us drink water (tap--run through a Britta filter; our water is very hard) pretty much all day. The kids take it to school also. Now that the weather is so hot, I also send a frozen Capri Sun for each so they have something cold for the train ride home (still 2 weeks of school left here:rolleyes1).

The kids will drink OJ or chocolate milk in the afternoon and then more water with dinner. If we go out we get Soda--sometimes also on the weekend if we grill. (oh and DH and I often have a glass or two of wine in the evenings;)) So probably 75 to 80 percent of what we drink is water.

We all drink water in restaurants.....mostly because it drives me crazy to pay 2.95 for a glass of tea or soda when I know it costs pennies (and that we can drink it at home).

At home we drink water and soda (adults) and kids drink water, milk, and juice.

Our fridge has a filtered water dispenser on it--so we drink a lot of it.

Since I can't go and edit it, once again, please accept my apoligize for stating - "making" your children drink water. In my house, it was and is hard to push the water over the cool soft drinks/fruit juices. They never saw great commercials for a glass of water:rotfl:.

I meant no disprespect to anyone, just bad judgement in wording...

But I will admit, I did have to make my kids drink water when they were little and still remind them now.
