Water temperature

I live in Southern Cal. and the water temperatures here aren't very warm. I have heard that the water temperatures in the Bahamas are much warmer...is that true? I went to surf camp a year ago in May and we all wore wetsuits to keep warm. Unless the temperature outside is very hot (which doesn't happen all that often on the coast), my kids will go in the water for a few minutes and then run out. I'm hoping that they'll be able to go snokeling without complaining. BTW, our cruise is April 1st. Thanks for the help.

I have been on the Disney Magic twice and I live in Socal and know the water here. The Bahamas are not as warm as like in the deep caribbean were St Martin is but are a ton warmer then SoCal. The water should be nice. It will feel like heaven to you. The water in Nassau is 76 degrees right now according to Weather.com In CA during the summer its about 69-71. You will enjoy the beaches.
