Hi - just wondering what time the water taxis start in the morning? We're staying on site and want to get into Harry Potter as soon as we can so that means an hour earlier than the official park opening. If we can get in at 8 a.m., at what time can we take a water taxi?

Also, if I've paid for parking at the hotel would I have to pay again at the park?

Thanks,
Mo

I think the taxis start about an hour before. If you are parking at the hotel you don't need to drive to the park. The walk from the hotels to the parks is about the same as from the parking garage to the parks.

the water taxis do start operating one hour before the parks open.

i have been there at times where they have started earlier.

When we were there Spring break, the taxis started at 6:15 for the 7 am early entry.

Keep in mind, be there by 6:30 or so. When we were there they started letting people in before 7am

spring break is handle a lot different than the other time periods for the parks.

hours are changed to accommodate crowds a lot more than when i go.
lots of rules change during those time periods.

i have gone one time during a spring break and decided never again.
too many peeps, long lines ............

We're not going until October and we're only staying one night and getting up to do Harry Potter (very excited 9 year old DS!) so I'm trying to figure out the best course of action since our time there is limited. Not sure how we're going to get to the park but it sounds like walking might be the best route. We're staying at the Royal Pacific for the first time.

The walk from RPR is not far, depending on speed can be 6-10 minutes. We do it more than taking the boat.:thumbsup2

Feel silly for asking this cause I have stayed onsite enough but can you use the water taxi if your not a hotel guest cause at some point we want to have dinner at RPR on our vacation but never had to wonder about this before until now :thumbsup2

yes you can.
but once it is midnight, only hotel guests can use the water taxi's.

they check for hotel cards at that time.
for all other times, they do not check. (for hotel cards).
