Water Slide Competition Comes To An End

Well, I just have to say that the slide competition was a much more positive experience than what I had expected! After so much talk on vmk, her, and other fan sites about how bad the everest competition was and a couple rude people before the competition started, I was getting a bit worried about the whole thing.

As it turns out, I had a great time building my slide and working with my team. I only encountered a couple of rude people on my ride and very few on others. I got to ride about 60 other slides and was amazed by some, got a giggle out of others for their amazing creativity, and really had a blast! It doesn't matter if we win anything, I am just really glad we were in the competition! I was in my room to see three staff ride our slide and that was great too! Thanks to all who came to Camp Slip and Slide! I can't wait for the next competition!

I must agree. This event was a blast! I had a great team, we built awesome rooms and had a great time keeping it open for everyone to enjoy.
Here is a pic of our closing cast party. Some were not in the picture because of time restraints, but they are not missing from my heart. I honestly believe we are winners, regardless of any award from vmk.
Thank you, Team Pirates on Holiday. Thank you to everyone who rode our ride. Oh, as far as rude people, I've only had to put my boots on twice this entire weekend.
Every ride I was on was creative! I was very impressed with the work and detail I saw. This was FAR better than the Everest event. Thank you vmk!

Congrats everyone! This was the most fun I've had on VMK. I made so many new friends my friends list is now overflown. Once again I could not believe all the fantastic slide. Many of them I enjoyed going on 2 - 3 times. Good luck everyone, you are all winners in my eyes!!

It was a great experience! I got to ride about 70 of the water rides and saw some awesome rooms. Some of the creativity was inspiring. I made some new friends, built a few awesome rooms and of course my team had our share of bad apples but it didn't come close to spoiling the experience. I would do it again any time!

I missed most of the event, and saw little of my teammates, because the high speed internet at the Polynesian was not working well all weekend. Plus, on Sunday we went to the Magic Kingdom.
