Water rides, what do you do?

It's a much better ride, both really, if you can time it for a Jan./Feb. visit.
Seperates the men from the boys!

JAG!!!!

LONG TIME NO SEE!!!!

HOW IS LIFE WITH YOU:cool2:

Along these lines...
Has anyone used the "people dryer" near Wimpy's? It was new to me when we visited last month. At $5.00 a pop, I'm not sure I'd spring for it but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who used it.

I'd rather stay wet & spend that $5 on the Dudley bridge with the soaker cannons!
That's like 15,16, uh... a whole bunch of quarters to make sure I'm not only one wet.

MIB9's- Been awhile! Still working my 1-step program, one day at a time.
Maybe see youse this off-season for MIB training. Never got past 700K (Bad student I am).

I am one of those whimps who cannot stand to be in wet clothes all day. I dress the kids in swim shorts and swim shirts and I wear ponchos early in the day. In the heat of the afternoon, I don't mind getting wet, but not at 10 in the morning.

If you use a poncho, you have to tuck the sides under your butt and pull it down over your knees, otherwise, your top will stay dry and your bottom will be soaked. I don't personally care if my top is wet all day - it's the bottoms that bother me.

waiting til you are ready to leave the park may work if you have FOTL, but even so the lines are always shorter in the morning. I don't know about you, but my kids will not let us bypass these rides - they are among their favorites.

Is there a good place to change your clothes in the park -- either into bathing suits beforehand or into dry clothes afterwards?

Change in the bathrooms. If anyone tells you you'll stay dry on the bilge rat barges by wearing a poncho they have either never ridden it or ridden it and been extremely lucky. Rent a locker (I never do) or bring a plastic bag to stow things in the center (I always do). Crocs or flip flops just for this one ride will save you a lot of aggravation.

Is it a common experience NOT to get very wet on Jurassic Park? I'm one of those pansies who doesn't want to get wet very much. :) I'll ride Splash Mountain in WDW, but I've always been lucky. Will I be fine on JP, and while we're at it, JAWS and Twister?

Thanks!!

None if us got wet on Jurassic Park. We were more toward the back of the boat - not sure if that makes a difference. My daughter's lower 1/2 got soaked on JAWS. Her shoes and soaks got drenched. We didn't expect that and she was miserable the next couple of hours until DH went all the way back to the car for a change of shoes for her. All of us had wet rear ends. If you ride JAWS, I think you will be better off if you sit on the right hand side of the boat - don't sit on the left! But, I think your bottom will still get wet.

My 10 yr old said she just got a little sprinkle on Twister.

Hopefully I am done asking you guys so many questions after this one :)

What do you do with water rides - wear ponchos (if so the dollar store kind or nice ones?), bring a change of clothes, walk around with wet undies until you dry??

We ended up going on the Popeye ride at the end of our time at the park, it was hot so we looked forward to cooling off. We brought flip flops with us (well, they were in the car, DH had to go back and get them).

I don't see how a poncho would help at all! We got soaked. I think one person in the boat wasn't as wet as the rest of us. We ended up going around 3 times in a row without getting off since there was nobody in line waiting for a boat. The 2nd go round, I really didn't get too wet. The third.... man, I was dripping!!

My 6 year old had a blast going up to the Olive Oil ship and getting revenge on people by soaking them like they had done to her :)

Just a tip .... if you rent a locker, keep a few dollars with you. We ended up being gone for more than an hour and had to wait a while to get someone to help us open our locker since it was asking for $3 and we didn't have any money on us.

Lands End used to have these great quick-dry cargo shorts that had the underwear lining thing inside. Kind of like swim trunks? Anyway they are perfect! Lots of pockets, look like regular shorts, but are made of that magic quick-dry fabric. And I can't find them on the web site anymore so I am glad I have several pairs!
