Water rides and temperatures right now

We arrive in the world next week! :cool1:

The last time I went in January, it was so cold that I bundled up in sweaters and hats during the daytime, so I crossed water rides off our list for this trip.

But now I'm seeing that temps will be high 70s and sunny next week, and I'm wondering if that's warm enough to get wet? Specifically, I'm wondering if we should add the rapids at AK and Jurassic at IOA (split trip) to our itinerary. I rode the rapids during that cold January years ago and regretted it big time. Got soaked and had to go straight back to the resort to warm up with dry clothes. But maybe we'll warm up quicker if it's 79 degrees out?

Opinions?
I should add that we are from Arizona, and we're wimps about the cold, though it is MUCH colder here right now than in FL.

I don't like rides that you get wet on so I may not be a great one to answer you. We were there up until dec 23rd and had some days like you described. I wouldn't have wanted to walk around wet though. The high 70s are probably the high for the day and you will see lower temps throughout morning and early afternoon.

It was beautiful yesterday. I would have no problem taking any of the water rides. But that is just me. You dry off pretty quick from JP. KRR gets you pretty water logged though and would take longer.

I'm a Florida girl and also a whimp about cold. Temps in the 70s are not pleasant to walk around in when soaked. It's refreshing when it's super hot and humid, but I'd actually be chilly if I got wet now. And then, I think about going into an air conditioned ride or store... Brrr!

I was there December 13-21. I went on water rides at Disney and Universal with no problems. With the warm sun the water actually felt good and for the most part it was 74-78 with exception of the last two days at 80-82.

If it's not in the 80's, I don't want to get wet. I'd be freezing.

Thanks all!

Sounds like mixed opinions, so maybe I just have to wait and see how the temps feel to us when we get there.

We rode splash mtn several weeks back at MVMCP. It was chilly that night & I was wearing a jacket. I got soaked ! It kind of put a damper on my enjoyment as I was wet for the whole party. Usually, I just get alittle damp on that ride.

This is the best plan. No one on the internet can tell you if you would be comfortable wet at that temperature. Being from Arizona it will likely feel cool to you (dry). Being from NE it would be warm for me.
Wait and see.

I'd use a poncho for JP, which usually doesn't soak you. Poncho's are useless on Kali anyway, so I might avoid that. At IOA, watch out for Rip-Saw Falls and Bilge-Rat Barges, both of which are soakers (though usually one of them is closed in wintertime for refurb). You will dry faster on a sunny day with low humidity than a hotter one with high humidity. Just play it by ear.
