Hi all............ SOOOOOOOOO, I have heard this term and I am smart enough to figure what it means but eventually, does the water go?
LOL.................I know may sound like a dumb question but the reason I ask is because being that I am eating about 2 lbs. of sunflower seeds a day! in order to curb my smoking addiction, I am concerned about the salt.

I am currently trying to wean myself off the seeds.........
I go from addiction to another...
as a matter of fact my 7-11 guy noticed the rapid pace at which I was buying seeds........lol :rotfl2: and noticed I dont buy cigarettes anymore!

SO about this water retention.......... I do drink alot of water is that good or bad when I am intaking lots of sodium? I totally feel so fat these days too, I mean I know I put on some weight ( I know this cause my clothes dont fit ) but I have actually seen the difference looking at myslef and I feel it! SO you think it may be the water retention.

THis is my last bag of seeds as I write this! lol! BUt I have I done any damage? will the water I am retaining ever leave? lol..............
I am concerned! :confused3

keep drinking the water - I know it sounds wierd but the more fluid you drink the less you retain (in theory). And, as you know I'm the queen of the tip involving essential oils, but if you can find some juniper oil and add a few drops to your bath it will help release fluid. It's also supposed to be an appetite suppressant too!. For anyone else reading this, don't try it to release pregnancy related fluid retention, you shouldn't use juniper if you're pregnant, and only use it once every day or two, it's pretty powerful stuff.

I hear you on the fluid retention!!!! Not fun - but think how much better your lungs are for not smoking! :flower: There are a few natural diuretics - I know asparagus is one, and I heard last week that spinach was (not sure about that one...) Also, caffeine is a diuretic if you do not normally have much. I've found lots of iced tea will help. You could probably google and find more natural food sources that will take care of the fluid, but lots and lots of water is usually the best bet! :drinking1 Oh, I've also found being in a swimming pool (I suppose a bath would work about the same) - something about compression from the water causes your body to release the extra fluid. Sorry you are dealing with this, but this is just temporary. Once you cut the salt intake it should go away, but it may take several days. Yea for no smoking!!!!! :cheer2: You are doing great!!! :teeth:

You will release the water eventually. I know that right before my period I retain a lot of water. About the second day of my period, my body decides to release it and I end up peeing a lot on that day. Drinking lots of water will definitely help. And no, you haven't done any damage.

Thanks all..................
happy to say, I have not had any sunflower seeds all day!
It seems however, that I really wanted a cigarette today! I didnt have one though. but perhaps I really was aaddicted to them ( the sunflower seeds that is).

LIttle.............just curious about that juniper. you mention adding to a bath ? that helps water retnetion ( in the bath) and what do you mean about it being an appetite supressant ( that done if you take it orally?)
I am interested please let me k now........
thanks
