We recently spent a week at the Beach club villas and the water there was very drinkable. It always had a chlorine taste in the past. Has anyone noticed the change?

I have not stayed at BCV but I have noticed that at other resorts. In the recent past the water was undrinkable at many of the WDW resorts but I've noticed it has improved tremendously in just the last year or two.

Hi Lisa,

I'm glad that disney finally did something to improve the tap water. Bottled water is so expensive there.

Does anyone know what they did?

Yes! We've noticed that on our last trip in December. The water used to have this metallic taste and smell. It actually was kind of gross.

Was this actually ever a Disney problem or County problem. I'm assuming Disney doesn't purify their own water so they must get it from the county water supply.

The water in Florida his a high sulphur content which makes it taste bad. I have noticed better water lately down there but oddly not at all places. i have water that tastes good at one place and awful at another. I have it so bad at some places the ice made a diet coke virtually undrinkable.

Yes, they do purify their own water. I am assuming they have changed their methods or systems somehow to achieve a better (or no) taste. To me it always has a sodium hint to it. There are tons of salt water aquifers in florida and I've always figured they pump out the salt water and desalinate it.

I don't know if the municipal waters have the same problem.
