I’m booked for August. I’m considering PH+ tickets. This will be our 4th trip, 8 nights, and
we’ve never done the water parks. Are they worth it? It’s just me, husband and our then 11 yr old daughter. I think it could be fun and it will certainly be hot enough but I’m not sold on cutting out park time. Did you love them? Hate them? Any tips on which is best? Thank you!!

Not clear if both water parks will be open (BB is supposed to open in march but no word on TL) so I would say wait and add it later

Do you like water parks? I think it would be a nice change of pace from the parks. You can go to the parks in the morning and a water park in the evening or vice-versa.

One thing to be wary about going in August is that its peak thunderstorm season, thus the waterparks can be shut down in the afternoon.

Also, it is unknown what hours Disney will be operating at then, which could be a factor. It could be a benefit to go to the water park in the evening after going to Animal Kingdom in the morning, for example.

You could just wait until the last second and add the option if the weather looks good for your week and the park hours offer the opportunity.

Can you currently buy tickets for the water parks? We’re going in June and would love to check one out. It being our first time I would take any recommendations on which park you think we should check out. Thanks

Yes, you can buy standalone water park ticket or add park hopper plus or the water park and sports option as an add on to a theme park ticket or package

Disney plans to reopen Blizzard Beach Water Park on March 7. Would be surprised if they open their other park by June, but anything is possible.

As for tickets, you can buy them on the Disney website. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tickets/water-parks/

I would likely wait until closer to your trip.

We love the water parks! Typhoon Lagoon is our favorite, but Blizzard Beach is a lot of fun, too. We always get the PH+ tickets and visit the water parks a few times each trip. We have an August trip booked, too, and have the PH+ option again. I can’t imagine going in the summer and not visiting the water parks.

When we bought our tickets last week we were not allowed to add the water park option but were instead told we can upgrade once they are officially open.

Then a TA or CM gave you bad information. We have the tickets so I know it is possible. Booked it myself on the website.

We loved the water parks especially during our summer trips. A break from 95 degree days was so appreciated!

Love the Waterparks. Several years ago the CM’s came around and let my daughters write there names on the sidewalk with some squirt gun thingamajig, then one of them got selected to make the park closing announcement and she got a certificate. Great park days.

We love to take a break from the Parks and just float around Cross Country Creek at Blizzard Beach and CHILL!

Also,Pre Covid,we loved to ask each Lifeguard where they were from as we passed by them.

Here are some responses we have had:

I'm from Australia
I'm from Russia
I'm from Thailand
I'm from Canada
(Many US States)
etc.
No where else but Disney World! :)

We don't use the water parks for shorter trips but on longer trips like yours we use them and love them! Normally in our 8 day trip we visit the water parks 2 or 3 times.

Highly recommend them for longer trips!
