haven't been to a water park but want to do so my next trip. 4 adults and 3 children (6, 10 & 12). any recommendations which park would be better. the kids are adventurous and will try anything

I could say Blizzard Beach and someone else could say Typhoon Lagoon and neither of us would be wrong. DD prefers the rides and the Lazy River at Blizzard Beach more so we normally choose that one. Its just about splitting hairs. If you went to the bus stop and got on the first bus that came by I don't know if your experience would differ that much from one to the other.

Both of Disney's water parks are great. To choose which, I recommend going to the WDW website for each park, & looking at the individual attractions, to see which park appeals to you more. You can't go wrong with either.

We have tried both and prefer Typhoon Lagoon (kids at the time were 13 & 11)

Yep, pretty much agree with this. Frankly, they are quite similar. They both have adventurous slides. Both have lazy rivers. Both have tube and mat slides. Both have family tube slides. Both have good young kid areas (though you wouldn't be interested since your kids are older). Besides theming, the biggest differences are:

TL has Crush n Gusher. It's a tube slide where a strong jet of water is used to propel you down...and up...the slide. The jets push you up a small hill. BB doesn't have something like that.

The wave pools are very different. TL is incredibly powerful and intense. The waves are huge, and if you're not a very strong swimmer, probably best not to go in above your waste. The waves come about once per 90 seconds. Personally, I love it, it's a blast. Just beware the bottom of the pool is very rough, easy to get a nasty "rug burn". The wave pool at BB is much, much calmer. Gentle, steady waves.
